Cocytus127: Parsing in SoD is the definition of cringe. I'm in a literal dad guild of casuals and normies and we went 5/8 in temple the first weekend pre-nerf, now doing 2-hour 8/8 clears weekly. The level 50 raid content is 95% auto attack content. The only reason you care about parsing is because you're socially inept and don't understand how easy it is to ask somebody for a guild invite, join a raid team, and simply show up and press buttons. I pity anyone who cares about parsing in SoD.

silv1860: WoW has a weirder mentality on this than FF does. Yes we have parsing, but average people don't look at it the same way they do in WoW. We can just join a random PF and people don't usually care enough to look you up, we just get a full party and go. Finding statics that only really care about killing the boss is the easiest thing in the world too.

People do care in higher end statics, but I think at that point its more justified in the sense that they are coming together to find people who can play at a high level. The problem in WoW is how it's taken over the pug scene.

TheBappin: all i know is i haven't give a single though to whatever parsing is, and i haven't spent any gold on raid consumables, and i'm still having a blast raiding... anytime i see someone saying "i hate that raiding is expensive" or "lfg ____, checking parses" i just laugh at them because they are making their life harder by caring about things that don't matter.

ocanica3184: People have been trying to convince me that SoD is Classic since Phase 1, it's not. Levelled my Lock to 10 then went back to Era.
CyrathWoW: When there was no addons in FFXIV we ran a background program that tracked everything similar to the way you track in WoW.
Even if we remove addons, people will still find a way to track it through overlays outside of the game.
I'm deff part of the problem as my guild requires 90% or higher to even be allowed into raid, despite the raids on SoD being insanely easy and us killing bosses in under 30-40 seconds. That said, we've retained more players by pushing parses than the other group that are losing all their members to burn-out.
I don't think SoD is in a great place, I wish using parsing was not the best way to keep people interested into the game by pushing themselves each week for those rank 1(100%) Parses.
We try to hold pvp nights, rep farm nights, ect but nothing compared to parsing runs which always has a full turn-out.
I agree with everything asmon says, I agree with other peoples frustrations, I wish there was an alternative.
