realnzall: Not having the 1 luck ring from the new raid makes this feel like an incomplete test since that's the only equipment piece that comes with that stat.
JeffSturges: Hard to shake the coincidence that the first mount chance you tested dropped the mount. Maybe it's just the first mount chance each week?
kitchentroll5868: I did something similar during Warlords of Draenor, but I didn't go as hard as you, I was just testing the Discarded Lucky Coin. What I did was set up a 7-tab guild bank, fill it with Card of Omens, empty it, then spam flip them using an action bar hot key. Rinse, repeat. In all, I flipped one million cards with the coin and one million cards without the coin. It took almost a year to complete. What I saw at that time was no change of consequence in "luck". I wore out the number keys of three keyboards in the doing of it, so I wouldn't recommend repeating that exercise.
annastaazia: There is another item you might be interested in as well. (If you don't mind farming it.) It's called 'Great Luckydo' from Maldraxxus. It's a drop that the NPC Chordy can dig up, and you loot. It requires the abomination factory. Thanks for the epic video, I loved it!!!
mmonkeybone: i have always wanted luck to be a actually stat that effects things in the game i remember when panda land first came out and i saw the lucky items lol i was obsessed with them if only they worked ...
unclvinny: There’s a firelands skip!?!?
33cipher: Blizz said that loot is made when the mob or chest is SPAWNED. There is NO way to change it once its spawned. But ..... I think luck might make the spawns have better loot though when they are made. That would be the only way. I used to get nothing good for drops, then I started carring the lucky horseshoe, and got a bunch of rare drops after that. Couldn't prove why though.
ayasemisaki8309: Funny that you actualy took time to test this for us.. conclusion remains.. log your alt army and charge in and beat the boss until he submits and gives up the mounts
drpeppaerdrpeppaer5434: The luck items make a night elf alway do a flip when they jump...that is all
mario12359: You screwed it up man not only was ya missing one arm bandit ring there is another ring CALLED THE LUCKY STREAK RING u get from undermine if ya would of had the LUCKY STREAK RING when mount dropped first time u would of had a streak of luck chain reaction.
iliutacristian8322: When an event requiring randomness happens (e.g., a loot drop, a critical hit, or a proc), the game doesn't just "roll dice." Instead, it uses a seed-based algorithm—a mathematical formula that generates seemingly random numbers based on a starting value (the seed). This means the outcome isn't truly random; it's based on deterministic calculations that follow a pattern, even if it's unpredictable to players. Even though players perceive outcomes as luck or bad RNG, every drop, crit, or miss is dictated by a formula, not true randomness.
truepickle4956: Fun Fact, the green infernal mount is more rare than the Mythic one, the mythic infernal on Wowhead states its a 11% drop rate still, probably easiest mythic raid mount to get
juviachan9963: That one time, I rolled a 100 on an item (Rashoks Molten Heart HC) and still lost to the other healer. >.<
LastTryMedia: Can't believe you didn't do a single scratchcard bro
realbiskogrigorov: Interesting video! Great job!
SkybloodOrchid: So wait if this isn't retail where you doing these videos on?
Mike-bn6ml: Oh damn I'm early
Irudium1: Luck does not exist nor does rng, its seed based within code just like casinos.
SapTheseCasters: Items that say they give you luck do absolutely nothing. Once upon a time it was a thing to get more coins in MoP, but since then it's only been used in secrets, like the felcycle. The 1 luck ring is the only one with an actual effect that makes your character always do the special jump, if they have a special jump (night elves, blood elves, void elves, vulpera, worgen)
NRmotion1064: One of the reasons why (SOME) Diablo games were so addicting, Diablo 2 specificly is fact that you could stack a stat called Magic Find
and it does what you already think it does, it increases your chance to drop magic(rare) items more efficiently. I think Wow would be totally different game
if it also had that system in it....
henriquekrever160: This video is amazing LOL, thanks for the time invested!
necromania1: Blizzard needs to add a luck tertiary stat to gear at random like speed, leech etc. that actually helps with mount and pet drops.
toreole: Id say this is still inconclusive
Would be much more meaningful if we had a thousand players do this in parallel
Konrad-z9w: If you're interested in a side story about luck I suggest reading "Ringworld" by Larry Niven. Great book either way.
mortalux: If anything it doesn’t work on older content because blizzard doesn’t have the time or at least doesnt take it to modify old content to add the luck factor onto it. However, with the introduction of super rare and extremely rare items in the raid tab, it is possible to assume the luck could have been added but nobody bothered to datamine it and actually works on those newer raids.
