notsotruenotsofalse: I really hope they make an offline mode before the game inevitably goes under
akiramasashi9317: Hardly surprising, Broadsword is notorious for being an MMO retirement home.
MatheusBatista3: They really should focus on Jadus return as a major expansion asap.
NARNIUS555: Star Wars Galaxies shut down in 2011, but fans kept it alive with non-profit servers like SWG Legends, which has now outlived the official game. If SWTOR ever shuts down, it could follow the same path. Other MMOs like City of Heroes and EverQuest have seen successful fan revivals, some even with legal recognition. The key? No monetization—just donations to cover server costs—and requiring players to own the original game files to avoid IP issues. Technically, it would take time to reverse-engineer SWTOR’s server, but the MMO community has done it before. If there’s passion and organization, SWTOR doesn’t have to die with EA. It’s a challenge, but absolutely possible.
I’d love to be part of a group working on this! I have experience in audio editing from college and deep knowledge of Star Wars lore, especially when it comes to story missions and world-building. If a team ever forms to bring SWTOR back in a non-profit way, collaborating on this would be gold. The right mix of developers, artists, writers, and fan voice actors could make something truly special.
arceptor: cartel market used to be cool but then they just started making stuff based off the shows and its MID
Jaeden_Phoenix: "Stay tuned for details on when we might have more information on (story)" is the most absolutely insane statement I've ever seen from a game dev. Not even "Stay tuned for more story info" or "We'll let you guys know a release date as soon as we have it", just "Keep on looking and maybe we'll let you guys know when we have more information about the story, if we decide to let you guys know".
1stDrDead: The only reason this game is alive is because it is Star Wars. If it was any form of Fantasy game this game would have died years ago.
aster4jaden: Good news! I stopped paying years ago, I either play free or pay once every few years.
WesJohnson3D: So, your video was how I found out that there was a dev stream today and as a former Bioware/Broadsword dev (props and weapons artist), watching the recording of today's livestream was...disappointing to say the least. While on the surface it felt like a regular dev stream, it definitely felt emptier and the presented assets felt...dull and few. It's an unfortunate time and probably a stepping off point for many people in the community. As for me, I'm probably going to step away from Star Wars as a whole as it just doesn't feel like home to me anymore.
YukiPyro: Swtor was never the same after KOTFE. From this Expansion this game tanked and it tanked badly. Only reason its still around is because of the rpers.
TKRepository: Nothing says "trust us bro" like completely disregarding the content drought and flirtatious giggling.
RollVander-g1t: We should've seen the signs. They ruined our characters, are ruining our story.. What's even left to play?
BoomyNation: What an unprofessional pos that live stream was.
sebbysanity: I like many people fell in love with this game for the story. The focus seems to have changed from story to intergalactic fashion similar..
gregb5251: Or maybe we should all just face the fact that the game has had its time, I'm sure you'll agree the golden age of swtor has past i know it's sad but it's had a good run, and for a lot of us it would have been our first MMO
BackwaterEnclave: I left soon after Legacy of the Mandalorian released(about a month lol) so I share your disdain.
Fare-thee-well, SWTOR. Your best days truly are behind you.
Apathy is death.
reallifeanimegirl: The voice actor strike is the problem, the developers cant admit it, it would go against ea's anti union policy. There are reports of EA's workers being targeted for organizing but this happens in all industry sectors not just game companies.
therizzler-z7t: This really upsets me, i started swtor only 2 years ago and ive had a blast, i would hate to see it go before i could enjoy it fully
ProphetPX: 100% TOTAL AGREEMENT on EVERY SINGLE POINT you have made in this ENTIRE video!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I WAS SO DUMBFOUNDED after my 4th attempt to watch that GLITCHY "live stream" -- most of which i missed because of all the glitches -- that i SADLY MOPED all the rest of this day because i felt like they really just didn't CARE to address ANY OF THE REAL THINGS I WANTED TO HEAR about!!!!!!
J0intV3nture: SWTOR is going through the same death rattle SWG went through before closing down. Less and less real content switched out for Microtransactions.
naberiusxielarian3905: And then they want 14% more for their Cartel Coins...
writerPiCryO: To be fair, I don't think Broadsword is the studio who can continue the game as it used to be. I think that's no surprise to anyone.
But also, I think the reason they shifted studio in the first place is probably because EA reduced the funding for this game, and maybe eventually stop funding entirely. So unless somebody provide funds or invest in this game with an intention to push the devs to make new content forward, this game will go nowhere.
livath4900: The devs don't care because thats what their higher ups are telling them to do. The game is supposed to die, any they are tasked with raking in as much money as they can before their own jobs can't be funded anymore.
sadtizowrld5950: Bro at this point they just gotta use Ai voices and get this shit going
MysticTroll: I'll sub again when there's actual Story Content again, I really tried to hang on with doing all the content on offer, but I'm burned out going through Legacy of the MandoSithians for the 7th time.
Marcothy_: Every time the itch to play this game comes back I see one of your videos and remember why I bailed in 2019
