swcentral: 1v1 dog fights should be a thing. Also, integrate flagships into GSF and have guild members run the ship, weapons, direction, shields, handling breaches. Best crew wins the battle.
DMWolFGurL: Star Forge is where it's at. At this moment in time. I used to be part of Ebon Hawk, now I'm a Star Forge guy. I haven't done gsf much. What is cool is I am seeing some of my old friends from years ago, coming back to the game.
OutcastCantina: I’ve played on several servers in SWTOR over the years—Satele Shan being one I’ve invested a lot of time in. These days, though, I find myself lingering mostly on Star Forge. Yesterday, I spoke with Sam about this and shared some thoughts about my experiences on the forums and Discord. Unfortunately, I feel like nothing is going to change. I wasn’t too surprised to hear that Sam has had similar experiences. Many of us who have advocated for meaningful changes have either been banned or have left these platforms entirely due to the toxicity. Whether it’s the forums, Discord, or other community spaces, the issues persist. It feels like feedback from outside their echo chamber just isn’t being heard.
The state of official Star Wars properties—and many other major franchises—is concerning right now. It’s clear that meaningful improvements will take time, but the question is whether games like SWTOR will stand the test of time long enough to see that brighter future. With more players unsubscribing or walking away, even while continuing to play for their own reasons, it’s hard to see how the current business model can remain sustainable.
Broadsword’s handling of SWTOR feels like a microcosm of Star Wars as a whole, which, in turn, reflects broader societal trends. Whether you’re looking at politics, Hollywood, or entertainment as a whole, it’s hard not to notice the prevalence of systemic issues. The era of idolizing Hollywood celebrities or putting unwavering trust in leadership has passed, and the ripple effects are felt everywhere—even in gaming communities. (I don’t mean to get too political, but everything feels interconnected these days.)
Anyway, I hope you’re having a great day, Boomy!

gina6235: I use to love playing GSF, I really enjoyed it. What ruined it for me is the same issue that PvP has and that is all the premade teams. It is no fun to spawn in and getting blown up before you have a chance to even move. Ever so often you would get a game where there were just regular players having a ton of fun but most often you get a premade that just sucked the life out of the match.
stanm3052: What I would do to bring life back to the game :
1) More combat styles. New Force user CS & new Tech user CS. Then focus on another one 6 months to a year down the line. There has been a want for tech vibro blade / tech blade users for a while now. We're long overdue here for different play styles. People need new things to play.
2) Story. Self explanatory. Please finish up this god forsaken mando storyline and move onto something else. Allow saboteurs to actually swap factions too. After all classes are now irrelevant since it's now combat styles. And personal story left shop years ago, so yea just let us swap at this point, no harm done, and decisions will actually feel like they mean something.
3) New pvp modes. Give us a 12 vs 12 WZ. Give us new maps (not reskins of hutt ball, or alderaan). Like new maps. Let us use walkers and other vehicles too in these. WoW did this and it was a lot of fun (they also had more than 12 v 12, but SWTOR servers would probably crash if we had 40 v 40)
4) In GSF if you actually look at Targeting Telemetry it will say removes all cloaking effects within 3000m. Where are our stealth ships? We could use them vs the gunship walls that happen from time to time. Offer new game modes, here as well. Like for instance destroy the enemy capital ship. Each side has one, it has decent defenses & attack power, but can ultimately be whittled down. Maybe have some other ships on the map that need to be destroyed first before you can go to the capital ship. Similar to a moba, but in GSF. Not saying it'll be great, idk but at least it's different and new. I'm open to other different GSF matches as well. Just throwing out ideas since devs don't seem to have any.
5) For #5 I was debating on improving crafting or uprisings, but think I'll go with crafting. We need better stuff, than craft augments. Put in unique armors. Improve dye selection since atm most of them are junk (few exceptions) allow for better crystals to be crafted, since the cartel market ones are now basically for outfitter, you can easily get away with crystals that offer more than 41 to a stat. Let us make decos. Doesn't even have to be new decos, could be like the old pvp achievement decos that are now locked behind tokens. An absurd amount of tokens for 1. We used to have ugly speeders we could make, but even those are few and far in between. Give us more speeder variety, and stop making all of them ugly.
Honestly there's so many things to improve on, I could easily make a top 10 list instead. There are so many ideas, but all we get is recycled content, with some story sprinkled in once every 6 months.
sergiol.aponte13: They should have a training map for the starfighter so you can learn and try out the different ships and not just become bait for more experienced players. I think is frustrating for new people to jump in and just get killed over an over... more maps would of course help, it gets very repetitive in a short time.
Drew2You: GSF used to be fun back in the day. The devs tried to increase rewards for it to increase participation a while ago, but then players complained about too many afkers just in it for rewards...
The problem is GSF has a steep learning curve and ship upgrade process with no way to practice it in any practical way in game and always has.
I think it's complete lack of updates since it came out stems from the fact that it was exclusively coded/made by BW Toronto and BW Austin had nothing to do with so understands the same in turn about it's coding. Could be wrong.
I would LOVE to see GSF get a rewards track and season(s) etc just like ground PvP has but I've seen suggestions of having it piggyback on the ground PvP rewards track/season(s) and think that's completely nuts. They are too different of modes. It needs its own thing to stand on with pretty shinies players want.
But you are spot on in saying that GSF as well as PvP needs some new maps. Not just 1 or 2 either. Like DOUBLE what's available. They could roll 1 out every 3 or 4 months, and players would be ecstatic.

sw-gs: Problem lies in advertisement of that PvP mode.
New player who logs in into SWTOR doesn't even knows that it exist if they won't pre "H" or go to mission terminal.
Also website doesn't show that it exists!
It could've been separate game on it's own, yet it is in SWTOR, so instead aiming to lure potential space simulator fans to this mode they wasted potential of it by letting it go obscure.
vincenttxf: I was playing on Darth Malgus, and joined to game in seconds. Which surprised me.
avious2360: Some things I would like to see would be story of course, but a return to individual stories. I understand why that’s unlikely, but I wouldn’t mind if they released two individual stories per update. I miss my toons feeling unique. Hell I’d be ok if we got mini stories like we did back on Rishi.
Secondly I’d love for more companion based missions. Back in vanilla we got conversations with them and a handful came with actual quests. Again doesn’t have to be all at once give a companion story every so often. As it stands now they just all feel bland. Date nights are great and all, but it leaves non romanceable companions out. Feels like there’s a lot of missed opportunity.
I admit I’m not a pvp player but they could add cross server ques. That could help to bring down the wait times.
I’d also love for them to add unique drops to flashpoints. Give me a reason to farm them other than the decorations.
paulo9991: Main Story & Multiplayer activities (Raids, PvP, GSF, FPs)
kpllc4209: I played GSF once, I was completely lost and useless but somehow my team won so I retired undefeated.
Xandorion: The title let it look like the game is dead... dont do that. Its ok to talk about this mode but dont make a clickbait like that...
DraphmirEmpire: Oh Gods man you scared me thinking that the only fully functional Multiplayer Star Wars game left in existence suddenly had its servers shut down for good!
I would play GSF if it had PvE mixed in instead of pure PvP as the only PvP I enjoy anymore is PvPvE
A21_Edits: Not subscribed but saw this in my recommendations. Don't scare me like this. I've been waiting to play old Republic for awhile again. I thought the actual game died.
michicrazy1333: Star forge is good with a lot a People, but like i say always, this devs are useless
fullofgrit: GSF could've been so much better, epic battles but nahhhh they made it dumb as hell, crossfaction teams? what the hell. would've been better had they made an epic PVE version, a giant starfighter raid on a base, could've been great. but nope. also, 0 update with it since it came out. i liked upgrading the weapons and putting a crew together, but they did absolutely nothing with it after they pushed it out. sad.
InnateNobility: I canceled my sub a few days ago. I've had enough, lol.
meteorbrawler5507: Game is dead since removal of ranked and no new raids. This game used to be a good mmorpg now it's a fucked up rpg game where devs can't even finish Story content.
hackintosh3899: Game simply needs to be F2P at this point. They have no development, they already have MT's for everything. Launch SWTOR include NOVELISTS as writers like Alexander Freed and Drew Karpyshyn. It had raid and pvp maintenance and development like WoW. Modern SWTOR is a free 2 play game with a broken game engine that wants a sub fee in a brand that now loses money per Forbes (Lucasfilm).
They are never going to get sub money again and the fact they think they can makes them completely delusional. The fact they think they can get sub money AND put all the best looking gear and mount son the shop makes them borderline insane.
norbertfenz3506: 1. Story 2. PvP Battlezones 3. Space Content 4. New Companions 5. New Flashpoints
alexandrelealpiresjunior1936: Throughout 2021 and 2022 I went on a grind to get the 1000 matches title. It was a hustle then
princehadesplayz9160: I’m on the Star Forge Server. There are still active starfighters there but sadly it still takes about 20 something minutes
panthrax555: GSF not having a PvE mode as well was one of the hugest mistakes they made. They need to improve their combat engine, the trash encounter design, and add some scalable solo content (this is a solo game now mostly after all). That might help.
drivebye2709: The sooner you all walk away, the sooner they'll make something better.
Search your feelings. You know I speak the truth.
jarjar2k3: I'm on Satele Shan and I can't get a queue to pop for anything lol. I think they need to just merge all the players onto a single server at this point.
