GamingGrenade1: If I got a dollar every time Ubisoft made a stupid decision just this year
Kappi__: Being hypeed for sword fighting update in a pirate game is crazy
gyspydanger0748: Probably out of obligation with the government of Singapore. We don’t know the terms of their contract but wouldn’t be surprised if there was a stipulation that it must be supported for a minimum of two years
marsaeternum1003: Pirate yakuza was probably made in less than a year and it's way better than this.... this garbage.
bronzin1445: Ubisoft needs to pull nothing less than a No Man’s Sky type of comeback for the game to even stand a chance.
Zuernaxashyr: I legit forgot this game even existed.
NicCrane: Don't know which version of Black Flag you played Luke, but I clearly remember being able to bail from my ship at any time, swim the oceans, walk onto an island, climb a mountain etc. It was a lot more than "a few ports here an there".
Ubisoft used to be so much better at what they do
LG1ikLx: XDefiant gets closed despite people saying they were waiting for updates.
No one is even interested in Skull and Bones
jordanmackay6746: They need to just turn it into Sea of thieves with more realistic art style. I'd play that
LICVIGO: Anthem also had a roadmap to fix the game before it was abruptly caned...
VioletElite4: Why do companies "double down" on the things that they know their own customers dislike? The execution, the mtx, the political push in games, etc. It just sounds like the easiest way for them to lose money. I will never understand that mentality...
nandoman4769: The theory of Ubisoft intentionally lowering their stock value sounds more true with each passing day.
syanreeze253: Nahhh....this game need a total reboot if Ubisoft is serious about intriguing anyone's interest. Because as of now, everything about SnB is just wrong.
We just need AC4BF-like game but with story more focused on a pirate life and more in-depth ship mechanics. That's all. How in the world Ubisoft even fcked this up so bad?
jckistan: Remember folks, don't praise developers for delivering late what was promised at launch
The game was released barren and devoid of content; adding what people want isn't exceeding expectations, it's barely meeting it. Publishers shouldn't feel comfortable releasing half-baked games
calebharch7229: May the few dozen players enjoy the continued support.
metal_mojon6831: “In the year of our lord, Todd Howard” will never not make me chuckle.
Hailie_Broko: If you want a pirate game then Pirate Yakuza is for you. It was made in a cave with a bunch of scraps and a million times better than skull and bones.
esotericautist7420: Gong to flip the assets into the AC Blackflag remake.
aquapendulum: A zombie is not "alive". It walks and it's dead. That's Skull & Bones.
Simbabweman: Big boss director person: "Ok guys, we made a pirate game and we need to update it with more content. What have we got? Anything original, anything that stands out from the rest to get fans and non-fans interested and excited?"
Lil Jimmy: "I got it. Picture this... Giant tentacles. Like, like... Like a kraken or a giant squid or something."
Big boss director person: "Jimmy... Thats brilliant. Give Jimmy a raise. This game is about to go Quintuple A".
BlueBloodPenn: Let me get this right:
They showed a second long cgi clip of a sword being picked up. So apparently that means they are adding multiple new completely different game play mechanics and systems to support a game that is on life support?
Luke….dude…..that is some serious projecting going on here. It’s fanciful wishful thinking and hype building at its worst. How can you talk about tempering expectation/hype or paying attention to the detail of what developers actually say and still come out with this?
Could it be possible? Sure, anything is. But I’ll believe it when I see it. As everyone should.
Relt88: It’s still a ship simulator in the end. Nothing can save that. Many other alternatives you can spend your hard earn money on better games.
Sebastian244.4: Thanks I started doubting my short position on ubisoft, but that's reassuring
chucknya1448: I now want a Skull and Bone crappy parody like Yasuke Simulator
tacobell393: The fact it's 2025 and we never got a single-player, narrative-driven pirate game is a crime. Black Flag would've been better not having the Assassin's Creed baggage imo. My problem with Skull & Bones, besides the online-only live service model, is there are no stakes. You get a generic crew on a microtransaction-skinned ship and you get to sink some random boats. There is no depth. No narrative. No characters that make a lasting impact. Watch Black Sails and you'll ask yourself, "Why can't we have this in video game form?"
