crooks1000: Instead of players being comfortable with not owning games, they’re uncomfortable that they own this game
dagoth3663: It’s kinda funny that we don’t even have to boycott Ubisoft they just do it for us
PSIgmr: I remember people saying in response the not owning games thing that Ubisoft needed to get comfortable with not making money and well I guess that has come to fruition
creterb2659: It would've been funny if it was the most pirated game they ever had
Rough_Buff_Alt: I remeber worrying that it would kill sea of theives lmao
orangnejones: Concord and Skull and Bones need to have a collab
megamace2: Oh wait, I remember seeing ads about this
...this game came out? I had no idea
a1rp0ds54: ubisoft needs to go back to making offline single player games
moonwolfproductionsans5239: If buying isn't owning, then pirating isn't stealing...
How good it fits saying that over a game with pirates
TubaTyler1: It took them 10 years to make a game that is just the ship mechanics from AC Black Flag, a game from 2013. Would've been cool if they let you actually be pirates and not only be able to control the ship when you're in the world
MasonGrainger-s2q: Ubisoft is a prime example of what happens when you care more about money than the quality of your games
ethanm3480: “School and bones”
piggy_animationz: Ubisoft is just falling as a whole and flash back to when they said cyberpunk 2077 would be the first AAAA game
Blobtic: Considering how AAA games have been going this is what i would expect from a ubisoft AAAA game
AutisticScholar: Good. All of the financial failures in gaming in the past few years better serve as a wake up call to all of these companies that the players control what's successful and what's a good decision and not them.
zds2009: You know what else is massive......
LOWWWWWWW TAPER FADE
pmcminecraft1: "biggest financial failure in gaming history"
Are we going to forget Concord? The game that was literally an end development Sony shut down their Japan studio and VR studio in order to justify the purchase of the studio making Concord
Then subsequently shutting down Concord within 2 weeks . . .
ghostypei: I'm comfortable not owning THIS game
evenlock2524: Really ironic that their big release after proclaiming that “players should get comfortable with not owning games” is a game where you’re a pirate; it’s like they’re predicting the future of gaming
The_Fire_Knight371: Don't forget that on console you have to pay for the console specific subscription to even play after you bought the game
peealpeeal2215: Ubisoft:Gamers don't own the game
Few years later
Gamers :now Ubisoft don't own their company
pokerus1359: As unfortunate as it is, Ubisoft needs to lay it to rest. They can’t even create good games with they’re pre existing, well known IP’s like assassins creed; the last 3 have been total disasters either by poor gameplay standards or PR nightmares. The amount of controversy from assasin creed shadows and the fact they hired a yaoi enthusiast as they’re source of Historical accuracy was a big yikes.
vekazu_is_great_guy: That was NOT the biggest flop of 2024
CptCthulhu: Is this is “Quadruple-A” then sea of thieves is Quintuple -A
dnate1: Sounds like they messed up in development and tried to use marketing to make up for their mistakes
Wooddchips: The only game that can be worse is gta6
850m aint crap compared to what was it like 2b
taylorbagnole4104: Black Flag and Freedom Cry did it so much better
