kalebeveld9790: we dont spend money on the game any more because they dont spend any time or money updating it
waynebake1123: Epic has spent the last 3 years shitting down the fan-base's throat and wonder why they're losing $?
MaindoGemu: It's simple. Why would I want to buy something for $20 when I can't get any return value from it. The game is coming up on 10 years old, there's nothing new in the item shop that gets players excited because we've been so flooded with decals, goal explosions, boosts, etc. that there's no reason to pay it any attention. It genuinely feels like since the game went free to play, Epic only focused on making some type of skins for the game until about 6 months ago, at which point the game became so stale we found other games to play. We had been asking for things like boost meters since year 1 of this game. We've been asking for a new rotation of game modes for an incredibly long time, and we've gotten some but it's been 10 YEARS. I can't even name a dozen game modes that have been added to the game. Rocket league has a unique place in the market, but I don't think that means that it gets to stand idly by and rake in money without some compensation of the insane amount of hours its player base has put into this game.
Mr_CrowFPV: Maybe if they stop allowing their casters and talent to shit on all of their fans from any region other than EU. That was a disgusting season of RLCS.
Zahigggy: Something that's always been a missed opportunity that they don't tailor the item shop to the Regionals and Majors, like it makes sense to me to put neural network in the store for a few days after G2 won the major.
triangle1332: CliffyB(someone high up at epic games) was on Rogan podcast a decade ago talking about this. He brought this same story of the WoW cosmetic selling for more than all of sc2 and how it's going to change the future of gaming. And also how excited he was to start implementing this into Epic games. A decade ago...
And here we are. They buy a game they didn't have to make, filled it with microtransactions... Say goodbye to trading. Say hello to the battle pass. Capitalism meta used to be about making the best game so more people buy it.. Now its about having a playable game and going all in microtransactions. As the cosmetic selling more than all of sc2 clearly shows
lclcg4418: Alot of space on my hard drizzy

koolaidsalad: i will now be constantly waiting for the rocket league ball skin
Chris-xl6pd: Dead game where literally every mechanic has been discovered, the only thing left is to be marginally better than the next person which is only reserved for all the zen tier players out there which most people are not. Its not the new shiny concept anymore, where literal trash tier players like kronovi and markydooda have a chance at being the goats, its now a top tier esport with only the best of the best players even having a chance. The only thing left is to be a pro or a sweat lord.
I will always play this game because i love it but its dying a death.
reallycasty: It's because the game is dying
chadstruzynski: Also, even though the crates were considered gambling or whatever, but that was peak rocket league in my opinion. The trading system was sick and the ability to get cool items was exciting. Just buying something straight up is so lame and it's so ridiculously overpriced. I won't give them 1 more dollar of my money
