Scorptice: 90% of the poe "pro players" are completely smooth brained individuals who are severely overwhelmed by the idea of active combat that requires more than two buttons and situational awareness. The remaining 10% are mathil and jungroan.
rubisco5997: Here is my hot take: If your favorite part of poe 1 is the "divine per hour" or maximizing profit, poe 2 is not for you. My favorite part of poe 1 is making my own build and killing all the bosses. And i'm happy with the direction the devs are taking poe 2.
suthtech: PoE2 will be an absolute bonkers for those of us who love building characters with crazy mechanics. Why? They're taking their penchant for inventing cool interactions on gear to skills themselves. It wouldn't surprise me if we're able to "dance" from one skill to the next, utilizing a series of synergistic buffs or debuffs on the enemy from our previous skills in the "dance."
skiruskronos2732: ZIZ has done so much to grow PoE. And he and many others creators, refuse to be yes men and still freely criticise the game, to the betterment of the game. GGG listens to these experts and respects them for it, even if they are wrong from time to time, they always listen.
ShadowofProvidence: I love poe but damn, I just run around with the map up and insta blow up packs or they insta blow me up. I don't see their attacks / spells usually Idk what the mobs do its just that combat doesnt exist in poe 1 endgame. I look forward to playing poe 2 where i get poe depth and build options with actual... gameplay lol. What a crazy world we're in where people are complaining about having to interact with mobs.
ConfirmedAsphyxia: This channel is quickly becoming my go to for POE2 news. Thanks for all the work you're putting into collecting all of this information Tri!
Candyman5OS: What PoE 1 players want is PoE 2 to be PoE 1 with improved graphics. Whats they dont understand is PoE 1 will be there if you want that gameplay. PoE 2 wants to reinvent itself and I am here for it.
c-tothefourth4879: Judging by what Jonathan said, you don't level up uncut gems either. you have to drop level 20 uncut gems.
Xyghaar: PoE2 is going to be a hilarious wake-up call where the entire subreddit realizes they aren't as good at the game as they think they are.
Scorptice: triple posting but I gotta get this out of my mind, it's like reddit forget that PoE 1 will continue to exist and be developed. PoE 2 is NOT a replacement for PoE 1.
Tyr808: I WANT isometric Dark Souls. The biggest problem with Poe 1 is that there’s no mechanical difficulty or skill in the game, the combat is just a boring knowledge check.
AygisMusic: I always wonder how big these “dramas” are. For all we know, it could be less than 100 people who are vocally online but then they get a whole video dedicated to said drama.
No0rdinaryHuman: Funny how people get mad when they find out they may need to learn a combat system in what is basically a fighting game. My biggest gripe about most arpg's is that the dodge is useless and all that matters is if my numbers are higher than the bosses. I want a game where I can learn to beat a boss even if my build is not perfect. You know, skill based. That seems to be the direction this game is going in and I am here for it!
gsczo: "You have to combo your skills and use them situationally, there was no simple trash mob explode skill" - That comment alone sold me for the game
Placeholder-sq9gs: Pretty sure everyone talking about "um le stupid lazy 1 button players" is failing to understand that it's not a mere coincidence that Path of Exile 1 has grown into what it is.
There are two facts about the games that I don't see GGG changing any time soon:
1. Loot drops randomly from enemies
2. What you want to get is scarce (you can't choose/target farm)
As long as these two conditions remain true, you will NEVER NOT have a situation where players favor clearspeed over everything else. Because in a game where all player power is tied to randomly generated loot, pure speed will reign king over any and all build archetypes. AND when you're expected to grind for 5 hours straight to profit from most endgame strategies, I bet my left nutsack you'll get tired of playing the piano on your keyboard. If loot stays more or less the same as in PoE 1 (or indeed gets worse, cough
Robot-Overlord: Spreadsheet junkies took over poe1. I really want a game not a market simulator. Fun > math.
audreywinter6910: Personally I was happy Zizaran mentioned accessibility. Disabled players are a thing, we do exist and it's a real struggle when you don't want to be left out by your favorite game. Honestly, I would pay for a non competitive accessible game mode that would be a little easier or modifiable. Like Ruthless, only in the other direction. I'm very glad that dynamically changing between controller and m/kb will be a thing in PoE 2, I dearly miss that in PoE! I can only play with controller these days, but inventory management or playing Blight are terrible. Already being slow AND being additionally hindered by the handling of the controls can be very frustrating.
So yeah, I'm thrilled for Ziz advocating for that, game developers don't really have it on the radar that people are differently abled or simply not 20 anymore. They want to give a real challenge for the most proficient players. But the vast majority of players are not gaming gods like Ziz or Ben. They want our support? We do too.
