The Impact of Path of Exile 2 on Path of Exile 1

uniquascaper7052: Unfortunately the game is just moving too fast in the endgame for mechanics to matter anymore. It turns out that poe2 starts out as one of the greatest video games of all time, and slowly devolves into the player literally clicking one button over and over and over and all that timing and all that amazing gameplay is just gone, poof. At a certain point you realize that their vision for the game vanished and it just became even faster and more annoying. I want to play a game with smooth steady gameplay, players are warping all over the fucking screen and everything's exploding everywhere and that's exactly the kind of game I'm trying to avoid.

antonego9581: I love POE2 but it is def early access and after spending some time in endgame i think im done until theres updates. endgame needs a lot of work.

REALLY hope they drop some poe1 info this week as im about ready to dive back in while they cook with poe2

jayson546: I like this guys opinions, but he often doesn’t take into account major considerations. Like the fact that it’s possible that a Huge % of the POE2 current population are mainstreamers. Spillover from D4, Etc.

The moment Monster Hunter, GTA6, and other such games release, many will leave and not return. POE2 had a Massive boost in marketing that POE1 didn’t have.

Let’s not pretend POE2s current player count is purely the result of it being just so good. The game is barely 8 weeks old. The player count now is Inflated. This is kind of indisputable.

dertman: Right now POE1 has players because of the lack of content in 2. But when the game fully launches and the content is similar, I think POE1 goes the way of D2 where only a small niche group continues to play.

krauszvlad4863: We need a patch that stops bricking whole systems and forcing you to manualy shut down and restart your own pc before any content.

hamingway: Barely played poe1, kept it for later while i was busy with other games. Now PoE2 has hooked me and my mates, and most of us are ready to try PoE1 and eagerly waiting for the next league for a deep dive

Bobbias: Ok, so he never explicitly said "the release of PoE2 will not affect the release cadence of PoE1". What he said is that they intend to stagger releases. PoE2's release is a bigger event than any single league, and I think it's ridiculous to assume he meant that PoE2's release wouldn't affect PoE1 in the short term. I think it's fairly clear that he was talking about the general idea for what they plan once everything settles down and they then have both games out, and a stable league release cadence going for each.

Some communication would be nice though.

straygoat4366: 300 hours in and taking a break from PoE2. Absolutely amazing game well worth the money I spent to get a key (and wasted giving keys to friends that failed to play...). I will find it difficult to go back to PoE1, but am also feeling too impatient for the pace of releases on PoE2 Early access. Gimme a drip GGG Im parched

RockoGoblino: PoE2's numbers & player retention is just out of this world. Remember that ''pressing 2 buttons meme''? It's GGG now, 1 button has PoE1 league and the other is PoE2 content. Great vid Mr Tri!

PrinceAldenGaming: Man, I miss Chris. I hope he makes an appearance soon.

OfficialpKIndustries: I can't wait to run a 20 hour campaign every season! It's gonna be so sick, I see the vision, I feel the friction!

codykelley4425: I always wanted to like poe 1, but I didn't I think my highest character (of 2 or 3) was level 50. Poe 2 just feels better to me I already have 2 characters in endgame and I'm actually excited to get more there. I hope for all the poe 1 players you get your update, but frankly, it'd be stupid for ggg to ignore poe 2's success and risk losing this new fanbase being built. If it takes longer now while poe 2 is in early access to get poe 1 stuff done, you should cut them some slack, but after poe 2 fully launches, then I'd side on being angry or whatnot. Let ggg get back on their feet, before feeling forgotten. They are some of the best devs I've seen in a while and I think they've earned some wiggle room.

JakeInvest: poe 2 needs to make end game map easier to see, zoom out more on it

mortensrensen9105: I love the new game, but i miss POE1 right now.. I really hope they find a good balance between both games.

SStesta90: i was hoping we would get small updates every weekend and big uppdates every month in poe 2 but i think i was a little too optimistic.

benjamincl2409: Im ready for a new poe1 season. Poe2 is good but poe1 is just KING

johnnyp6202: Sorry. Tri but that was a bad video. I guess your ultimate point is that POE2 is a better game and much more popular by player numbers so despite what they have said they are going to toss POE1 aside. POE1 was successful enough to fund POE2 which probably cost GGG many millions of dollars. They are also part of Tencent who are somewhat hands off for a parent company but still profit driven. They are just not going to toss away all the POE1 revenue even if it looks like it is much greater. (POE1 might still make as much or more money for GGG) Just not happening. And your bias towards POE2 is a little off-putting to be honest.

RelaxedpiperYoutube: Honestly I'm bored of PoE2 already. When drops, including uniques sucks. and crafting sucks, why play? Build diversity is bad and skill links are are attached to gem skills I'm now considering playing Diablo II remastered.

lukex1337: PoE2 needs way more time to cook before being compared to path 1.

circaen: I don't think you were wrong. "Our intention..." is rather important. This was before POE 2 beta was more successful than the last two POE 1 leagues combined.

tommysamuelsson1147: I wont be playing PoE 2 until they realse 3.26.

GreenStreetSlim: The fact that they didnt say "expanding our studio" means they are juggling. Both games will suffer because of it.

sethjones6711: My money is on ggg ends up bricking both games.

Matt-gf4gd: I've thought about this whole ARPG endgame dilemma a bit. Not just POE2, but it also applies. There seems to be a dichotomy between making compelling gameplay and having an endless endgame progression loop. How do you balance progression hundreds of hours into an endgame whilst not having the gameplay inevitably devolve into a min-max blasting of maps? I'm not sure I know. GGG seemed to be onto something of a new take on ARPG gameplay with the campaign and it mostly falls off into the endgame. I think they might be able to find something of a balance eventually. The current endgame seems to have been a quickly thrown together stop gap, so hopefully given more time and feedback they'll be able to find a way to differentiate POE 2 endgame more from POE1 and most ARPGs of the past.

GW2KillerBEE: Even when ggg is fucking up with poe 1 you are still GLAZING them hard.... do you ever get sick of being a sycophant for ggg?
