nikitaradchyshtn1442: The way you explain everything even when things are bad is fascinating, you sound nothing like other streamers sitting/hating on a patch while you simply talking about it, respect my friend
Yapperignore: I just loved that mark almost burst out laughing when ziz mentioned quin using the anvil temper weapon. Him fighting the chimera using that was honestly some of the funniest shit I’ve seen.
TalkativeTri: Thanks for the shout, Raxx! VOD is up now ;)
dantonruthe6621: Wow respect for having some empathy for Jonathon in his current position. Something this community tends to lack
apsalar_coruscan: Ziz: makes an observation
ADVGuiltyParty: Zizaran did a great job. He stood his ground asked good questions that players were experiencing and didn’t crumble when he got pushback. Mark was great. Huge respect
adambirch6466: I felt like Jonathan hasn't been getting much sleep tbh. Like, between that and the fact that, it's pretty clear they have a lot of arguments and debates internally about the best way to design things, so I think he has probably rehashed a lot of these ideas over and over within the company. Yeah he seemed tired, frustrated, and a little hurt and to be honest I think it's important to remember that these developers are just people. Cut them a bit of slack. They made the best arpg of all time. And they're trying to top it without copying it with better graphics and a new story. Have a little faith you know?
To be clear. I thought Ziz did a great job passionately advocating his point of view and experience and the opinions of himself and many other players. And I really respect Jonathan for his passion and devotion to the game and Mark for being able to mediate so well between the two of them.
I feel like a lot of players seem to think that GGG doesn't really care about players or the game and I think that's 100% wrong. It's clear to me they live and breathe these games.
ccrazool: I'll be honest, when it's my ninth time going through the campaign, you bet your ass I'm going to try to sprint by as much of it as I can.
lathamtk: Godly interview? Yes, undoubtably. Johnathan admitting he was a little off? No problem, water under the bridge by now. Your quick recap? Also Godly! Thanks Raxx.
prettycool_guy3516: I'm just gonna say Zizaran was a beast. Never expected that. But I subbed.
Zeph528: "Minions only do 17 dmg!"
"Adding more checkpoints."
spookyfork6136: Hey Raxx, it’s everyone.
zenbuddies: The best thing about all this drama is im finding out who are level headed PoE content creators, and the reactionary click bait ones. You got yourself a new follower sir
redfish337: Diablo 2 has two super important quest things you have to forge in Horadric Cube as a quest point.
If they want people to remember the crafting bench, make crafting something an actual part of the story.
There's a "quest" for crafting something but it's easily ignored. Instead of just ending the quest, make it a questline that gives rewards for using it so that there's always another quest to do, at least for much of the campaign.
And even just hold their hand a bit if needed- if a character dies like 5 times over 30 minutes due to elemental damage (death log, when?), remind the player that the crafting bench exists and that 75% resists are important for survivability.
l3wdlemon708: Zizaran telling Jonathan not to talk over him blew my mind and earned a sub
fernandson: Pretty tense interview. Ziz surprised me for his guts and composure ... Jonathan should stop interrupting people, but in the end, things got better.
Shadow_MosesTTV: "if we nerf everything the game wont be fun" *proceeds to nerf everything on the player side*.
theStamax: Honestly, this improved my Opinion on Jonathan more than the other way around. Yeah, he's very set in his ways and struggles to understand other people's problems, but at least he still shows emotion and being a bit cranky and still doing this interview is something I can respect. You KNOW a lot of other studios of GGG's size would just put out some statement that went through 3 layers of PR.
Let's hope they can improve the experience.
baysedgamer: That interview was pure passion from both sides of the spectrum. It was a great interview and they hammered out a lot of stuff. At the end of they day, they are all friends and that’s why it got a little spicy because they all RESPECT each other
h0p0p: Imagine removing the crafting bench to help new players, just to give them a campain even veterans struggle to finish without suffering...
russelllapua4904: Everyone should be cheering this interview. Not a single development studio would have an interview like this. Can you imagine blizzard or activision or anyone from Nintendo doing this?
123443567: I love that "many many many more uniques are coming" this doesn't fix anything if the drop rate for even normal rares and all forms of currency stay the way they are.
clericodoom: You and Ziz should do the interview together. That way Ziz and johnathan can fight and you and mark can be reasonable
blaiseaka7157: What concerned me was that Jonathan didn't know why he gets more currency drops than others.
Aezetyr: There were two things that really stood out to me.
1) Early in the discussion, Mark said something about "we're shooting from the hip...", and a few times he and Jonathan said that they ran out of time on a few things. I heard that, then saw the last couple of patches have been incredibly huge, massive number of changes. I thought "maybe they're biting off more than they can chew, and are getting overwhelmed.". I'm thinking more frequent smaller updates would make a big difference in their development cycle.
2) During the more argumentative parts of the interview, I started to think that there is a clear gulf in understanding the philosophy about the game from GGG side. From what I know about GGG and how they've operated, they've always taken player feedback and did their best to understand it and implement what they could to make a better game. This time, it was coming off as more combative and defensive instead of constructive. I know what Jonathan said about "waking up on the wrong side of the bed" at the end, and that's all fine. Perhaps he was also internalizing a lot of the negative feedback. At the end of the day, though, feedback is feedback. Maybe things went bad with Chris leaving the company, or there were some design philosophies that he had which are contradicting what Jonathan wants. At one point Jonathan came across as saying "well get good", when he said something about "that not being my experience...". That was a bit much to hear from someone that well respected. I'm not shitting on the guy, that's just something that really stuck in my craw.
Overall it was a very informative interview. Zizaran did a fucking amazing job, all the kudos to him.
Zogin_EPICH: I strongly believe that a homebrew build should be able to get you through the campaign, but not excel. It should be challenging and it's ok if you have to iterate on it, but you shouldn't be forced into a certain skill. Experienced players should be able to trivialize the campaign by implementing their experience from playing multiple leagues imho.
