Someone made a post that opening a jagged clam magically resets your global cooldown if you have unholy presence talent specced into. It was supposed to be a bug, but well - abuse early, abuse often. Ofc being able to reset your GCD at will would be insane imba, allowing you to machinegun your abilities and wreck in PVP where the most important part is to do a great burst of damage (rather than having high average DPS).

This caught a lot of traction and jagged clams shot up on the auction house. Obviously you would need to carry a lot of clams to perform many GCD resets. So the demand was created. People started cleaning the AH from clams, sellers jacked up the prices to 15 gold per single clam. It's a lot in classic, about as much as an entire daily quest or even two.

People bought clams but weren't able to replicate the GCD reset bug. No one seemed able to.

Guess what, clamweaving never existed. It was a well crafted troll post that fooled many players xDDDD Those that bought lots of clams at insane prices were left scamazed royally.

Zenbubbles: For Faustus I think they should add an average price of the last 100 sales or something similar. I have had many times when I either didnt know how to price a scarab because there were none being sold at the time, or the situation where people were selling or buying for rediculous prices that couldnt possibly be right (like Maven Splinters for 2 chaos).

squidbait1396: I feel like this is kind of a non issue. The people losing currency to this aren't just people wanting to use the scarabs, they are people trying to buy and flip the scarabs themselves. I care about what happens to them about the same as the original poster.

It was just as possible to buy low, post misleading info, sell high without the exchange.

If you are willing to buy something for 10C but later find out other people think it's only worth 5C, I can hardly call that a scam.

if people spread misinfomation about a strategy you need to use your brain. you can't just hear one thing and blindly buy hundreds of scarabs.

It's not a Faustus problem, it's a human/player problem. Faustus makes it easy for the supply and demand to find each other. It is up to us to make sure that our own demand is reasonable. we need to test it in small amounts and confirm it works before buying in bulk. otherwise you are taking a huge risk
