PrinceAldenGaming: We didn't even get a goodbye. After all those years of "I'm Chris Wilson from Grinding Gear Games" and not even a word from him. Sadge
stu.chainz: Good bye and good luck, Chris! You brought many smiles to so many faces. Thank you for your passion
joshuapeters3695: Hey bud the thumbnail with the gravestone makes it look like he’s dead.
Hazeykthx: Chris Wilson is a legend. May him enjoy life
thegalaxymaster1143: Was I a good director? I heard you were the best.
via_negativa6183: Oof. As a new zealander as far as Im concerned Chris deserves a knighthood for his contributions to NZ gaming
InsPoE: My fondest memory of Chris was participating in Open Beta Weekend when Shadow and Claws were added to the game. Chris was chatting with Global and I sent him a pst asking him if he wanted to party up. The mad lad told me to invite him, and we played all the way until he ripped to exploding squids on the way to Merveil. When Open Beta Weekend ended, he gifted my account a Closed Beta Key.
Aside from my personal anecdote, I've heard stories of him going above and beyond during fan meet and greets. He just seems like a genuinely good guy all around.
ovis2375: Let’s hope this is not the start of blizzard north/blizzard thing.
Noksivs: I knew something was up long ago. When I questioned that he never showed his face, people were coping with saying he wanted to put Jonathan and Mark in the spotlight. But not appearing once even at the EA release of POE 2 was the final nail in the coffin for me. Honestly, I hope he is not sick or anything. At the very least we know he is alive now.
finfen9730: Dude, I hope he's healthy. The staying out of view this long and now retiring is concerning... wish we could get any update from him.
Nataz06: I'm super bummed to hear this news, I hope it's just he needs time with his fam or whatever and not something serious or life changing. I wish him all the best, he had a solid heart and his personality was infectious. When he talked about the game you could see true genuine excitement for what he had poured his heart in soul into. I wish him and the rest of his fam nothing but the best!
FlameMage2: Chris WAS GGG to me. I will sorely miss him as I have been since he first seemed to have taken a step back. Take care Mr. Wilson and thank you for your genius!
amraswoke6762: I understand clickbait titles and all, but I genuinely thought he was dead with that title...
K1m9857: A true legend
Shame some of the community wanted his "head", especially on reddit, and they got their wish
Shame on you guys
I don't think the backlash given to Chris Wilson was ever warranted
I will miss you Chris Wilson
johnnysvensson: Been expecting this ever since they sold to tencent, and here we are.
Vigoszz: Bex out and now Chris!!!... This is so hard to swallow. We owe this great man sooo fckin much, I don't want to believe it. He gave us so much... he's an introvert, a nerd, shy with insecurities. few mistakes back then and WE LET HIM DOWN MAN... WE LET THAT GREAT MAN... WE ATTACKED HIM EVEN PERSONALLY... HE was never the same again after than... WE LET HIM DOWN. You don't argue with em on this one.. We the players let him down to a great extent. Thank you Chris!!! Thank you for all those memories... Salute!
mikes2106: This actually explains so much as to what's going on with GGG...
fvzi4861: Chris is just living his best life after dedicating almost 20 years to poe. Totally deserved.
lazbrother7474: I remember him as a CEO that cared for his customers. I sent him a personal Email back in July 2011 asking for a closed betakey. I had as a hobby to write reviews of games (Not as a profession)
trad5479: I remember listening to Chris Wilson doing interviews on Kripp's stream more than 10 years ago and that convinced me to try the game and I fell in love with it and I'm still playing it more than 10 years later, thousands of hours later. Thanks Chris hope you have a good life, thanks for an amazing game.
voodoo1069: I really don't think Chris has enjoyed the direction the game as gone for a long time. That is why we saw ruthless and poe 2 to try and capture that magic he loved but the community as a whole doesn't seem to vibe with it like he would have loved.
RoadhouseGames: Its really a shame and the saddest part is that he is just fading off into the background with no goodbye or anything. Cant blame him, devs get a lot of hate unfortunately. GG Chris.
SoundsOfSushi: The hateful people on Reddit did him in. I blame those guys.
-who-: Jonathan is all the time doing interviews and y'all refuse to ask where is Chris
rebeltheharem7028: Well, when you sell the company, 2 things usually tend to happen. 1. The company slowly dies and becomes a shell of its former self. 2. The company was taken over by a white knight and comes back better and more beloved than ever.
Number 1 happens 99.99999999% of the time, and number 2 almost never happens.
Whelp, you will be missed.
m.s.s3421: This what Happens when you sell your company, we have seen that so many times, it is really unfortunate, and GGG will not be the same anymore..
LostVikingg: RIP to POE as we know it
