alxk3995: I don't think that they just open up the game for everyone. I think they might use the modern "watch a streamer for x-hours to get a key". At least that was my initial thought. This method worked well for a bunch of other games in recent months.

omegasybers1110: I think there will be an open beta/access period, but I think (at least for the first few months) a key will be neccessary to enter the Early Access. And those keys will either be given out to longtime supporters (aka >500$ spend or >=420$ in one pack), through random twitch drops from streamers or via supporter pack. And on Steam you are buying a supporter pack to access the game and get any leftover keys send to you via mail or smth

osmou8309: Free, in your dreams maybe. They can make a lot of money by selling the access, it would be stupid for them to make it free. Its a buisness, not charity.

jamesstewart8663: Having played the POE1 Closed Beta.... I think that was closer to a true beta. You have to remember it had only 2 acts with 3 difficulties. There was quite a bit missing, and there was a huge lack of content. Not to say it wasn't fun, and new acts quickly came, which they did after a few months, but for some time it was fairly basic. Ironically the only Mirror I have ever seen drop, dropped for a friend in closed beta :D POE2 looks like a far more complete experience, and a FAR more full fledge game (100 bosses POE2 vs 5 if your are being generous in POE1 Close Beta). I think this is why they chose to use the term Early Access as it a far more complete game when dropping for people.

Zizarian get to know in interview that it will be done in classic way. Random keys and guaranted key per 500$ spent on the game in the past. They do not want everyone to get in - they want to increase playerbase in steps to test stuff.
