Path of Exile 2 surprising FULL Release News...

Domepiece1993: Can’t say I care too much. I’d rather them bake it long enough than pull it early. This was one of the biggest mistakes studios used to make because we pressured them into releasing on time instead of delaying. We need to let them cook.

ivannunka1243: I think they were quite smart with the upcoming patch. Yes, we didn't get druid, but If we did get 2 new classes, and little to no support gems the game would still feel a bit stale with regards to builds. 100 new gems is huge, and will provide ample opportunity for many new builds, and lets not forget we still got a new class. The 100 new gems and class will keep our smooth brains occupied for a bit, as they work on new classes, and in later updates I suspect we'll see them dial back on new support gems and instead roll out new classes instead, with only maybe a handful of gems.

Adding this many gems now, will also allow them to fully optimise and balance upcoming classes. I cant image the struggle of releasing multiple classes now and then 150 gems shortly after.

Let them cook guys

cozyboy3129: Personally for me, the official full release don't matter that much anymore. Bcoz I'm already playing now in EA, so as long as they have loads of new content just like the 0.2 that is coming, I'm fine.

chasecharland1160: Don't care about the release date, they've exceeded my expectations with this new content, I'm happy to wait.

robertbauerle5592: I'm of the opinion that they shouldnt crunch too hard. If rushing results in lower quality, I think the community should be willing to let the game come out in full a few months later.

chrismiller7703: I just wanna know about the state of armor

rb98769: Does anyone honestly expect it to release this year at all? I was already skeptical before the early access, it's hard not to be absolutely certain at this point that 2025 isn't it.

mycommentpwnz: I previously worked, in management, for a mega multi-national corporation. Consequently, I can assure everyone, there is virtually ZERO CHANCE this game will be finished (and released) in 2025.

However, If he admitted it NOW, that the game will be delayed, he will get pressured, literally, 20-50 times a day.

(That's why he's going with a 65% probability, its a high enough number to AVOID headaches, from his bosses, RIGHT NOW. But, 35% of failure is a large enough number as to where he can say, "HEY! I warned you this could happen!")

Legitimately, If he said, "Game won't be out until spring of '26," his daily routine would be hindered by bothersome emails, texts, visits from bosses, vague threats, etc.

It is the unhealthiest and most annoying environment you can FATHOM.

Monique-iz8lp: Jonathan's takeaway from the early balancing mess is so bizarre. Yes, people were rightfully upset about bricked builds. Because the nerfs happened right around when most players started hitting the end game with their first characters, were gear starved, and had nothing to replace the bricked build with, while respeccing was outrageously expensive. It would've been totally fine if they just gave people a free passive reset.

FlameForgedSoul: 25-50% of the problem is the misuse/abuse the term 'Early Access' has suffered. The expectation is a mostly complete game that you're paying to access early. The reality is you're paying to access a beta and (ideally) aid in it's development. There are a number of compounding factors on both the dev and player sides but folks really need to wrap their heads around this being what EA was actually supposed

IIVTriggerII: I'm definitely starting a new league over carrying on with the current one.

MrMysteriousDm: Id rather them make a good game than put it out too quickly. They are cooking rn with the first big update ive seen since playing when it launched the preview on console. Its epic.

Juggernaut76: 0% chance it meets that timeline. It took four months for this much which is not on schedule. Once you factor in the community input they need and have relied on to fix things for over a decade there is no chance what was promised comes out with decent quality in time.

cyberdemon1702: Smart move. Drop the huge update news, then slide in the bad news on the backend haha.

Either way, would you rather have them release an unfinished product or take the extra time to get it right?

Rolling out a couple classes after the full release isn’t the worst thing in the world, will help keep things fresh. I would probably do my utmost to get all of the Acts finished though. To me that makes a complete game.

I don’t have a dog in this fight, I haven’t played it yet. But I wouldn’t be too hard on GGG. The amount of content they are pushing out is impressive, so if it takes a bit longer so be it. It’ll be March of next year in the blink of an eye.

FelipeVaz-x6s: Some people got mad the balancing wasnt comming fast enough.

Others complained about "bricking builds"

They should just make respec free and go nuts on the balancing patches. This is not early access. this is just an uncompleted game.

elderwiz3165: They'll get massive testing on the huntress now.. So that class will really be hammered out. If they release one class per league, they can get that same focus on each class to get them real polished at the end of the league.

Thissapunyo: Did anyone ask them about the LE release timings?

Cedrinya: For me this game doesn't really feel like the typical Early Access game. I get that they don't want to brick builds and stuff with more frequent patches, but basically this is what Early Access is usually about - pumping out content and let the Early Access Player, Access it early so they can test it, give feedback so they can fix it much faster. The strategy they are currently doing feels like a full game release pumping out updates every 1/3 of a year. It's just down right terrible and if the next update takes close as long as this one, I probably won't be playing this anymore since it's just annoying waiting on an update for months just to get a buggy mess that than takes another 2 months to get fixed. Also, if they don't nerf stuff, there will always be a new broken as build or item, duplications glitches, other stuff people abuse which causes the ingame economy to be fucked again and why? - because they refuse to nerf or hot fix stuff right away and rather wait months for it. An early Access Game is basically a beta and they don't treat it like it, they treat it like a full game release and call it Early Access and honestly, this is just false advertisement imso. (I played 460hrs in the first 2 Months)

Asin24: Nerf builds that are overly strong, but just do it gently is the best solution. The biggest issue with GGG is the fact they nuked builds from orbit to the point of making builds completely unviable, rather then just making them weaker where you could still use it, it just wasn't as broken. Swat them down so they aren't so insane even if it means they are still strong, then nerf them down the rest of the way for the next big patch if it needs more.

ElewIV: Questions for the Interview:

1) "In PoE1 meta crafting with the crafting bench was a gigantic Divine sink. Since we do not have a crafting bench what do you plan to do to combat Divine Inflation."

2) "While a full auction style AH might be overkill, My primary source of "dead game time" is sitting in my Hideout trading or traveling to another player's Hideout to manually transfer an item. Would you consider an Instant buyout option that automatically delivers purchased items."

3) "The primary reason given that gold is used in the currency exchange was to combat bots. However, you can now sell items for gold to vendors which undercuts it's ability to combat bots. Have you considered removing selling items to vendors for gold."

andrewjackson1915: 100% Agree they need to treat this like early access/beta and be more on top of dup bugs and set respec cost to 25% off with a tag that says price is only during early access so they can nerf stuff mid season

millatron2292: It's crazy to me that they'd opt for fewer rebalances and keeping the respec costs in place than more frequent rebalances and just removing the respec costs. Balancing is crucial to prepare for launch, and respec costs are a tiny fraction and super easy to balance after launch.

PlisskenMacReady: Honestly, the only two things I was bummed about was that we didn't get the Druid and there was not an additional Act (Act 4) added. Other than that, I am super stoked for this patch and would prefer they take their time to get it right prior to release. If that means going into 2026, so be it.

Lopti-yt: Please ask them about Armor and ask if people should even bother playing an Armor class this patch or not. That is the one thing I wanted fixed and it sounds like they have not addressed it at all (hoping I am wrong)

Frost.7xx: 65% to me sounds like 3 people in the office said “I can’t finish that in time”, while the other 6 said “yea I think I can make that happen”
