Path of Exile 2 just shared their Future Plans...

Rob-qs3xx: They need to let people buy from you without you having to do it in person

jeremym1365: One of the most annoying aspects of this game is having a friend asking me to help with a boss. I join their group, go into the map, get to the boss and start a fight that is going to take a few minutes. Then bam I get a message, " I would like to buy XX items for XX divines located in X,Y position." There is no way I can type a message while dodging the boss to respond with hey wait a minute. So either I ignore them and lose out on the divines, or I teleport out, drop group, sell the item, and make my buddy mad who died to the boss. It's 2025, why is there no auction house? If they dont want the market to get flooded with items, then make the items only show up in the AH when the player is online. It is also very annoying to have to keep switching tabs from IE to game, back to IE, back to game to look for items you want to buy.

MrHadane: The whole announcement was like watching a recap of a previous episode of a show that you’re currently binging. Complete nothing burger.

vicentepadayao1: Map stash when?

Mike-mm6ly: I played poe2 till end game and did about 50-100 maps and most events as well the biggest issue for me has to be the trading/items, it's really frustrating to use the trading site to message 20 people then wait 30 mins for a reply only to have the person ask for more, it's just silly.

juttyism: No one's treating this like an early access is the thing. There's a lot of pushback because people decided this beta testing build would be their whole lives and careers already

spbalance: If they keep these updates coming as infrequent as they do now, ie. deliberately delay 3 months for every major rebalance patch to respect players' characters, this EA will go for two years, not one. smh

Mister_Vintage: Nothing said about crafting/gambling....gettin' worried over here...

DilatedPupills: I got to my first citadel last night. The stone one with the pyramid. Its the act 3 boss which has long I-frames. I got one shot by the red laser. When i found out after I have to find a whole new stone citadel for a 2nd attempt i quit. It took me hours to find the first one. That is WAY too punishing. Thats like getting to elden beast in elden ring and having to redo the entire campaign in elden to fight the beast again. Thats F'n insane.

eshannumin: The fact that Ghazzytv doesn't craft in POE2 tells you everything you need to know about the crafting XD.

razorend22: I was kidding when I commented on Reddit that I can't wait for an announcement of the plan of the scope of the possibility of the timeline for 0.2. But this is taking it to another level. This is "we have nothing to announce, but here's what we did if you haven't been paying attention."

Idk, I was rapidly reaching the "there's nothing left to do" mark, but I was feeling better before this post than after it

gefx0164: This post honestly has me worried a bit. Especially their fixation on the map checkpoints instead of the layouts. The layouts are like 80% trash, there is zero acknowledgment of this from GGG, the wast majority of the community aggrees with this. The checkpoints are a bandaid at best that is still completely useless most of the time. I used a checkpoint like 3 times since they added them. The last patch didn't fix it either, they can add a checkpoint around every corner the map layouts will remain shit anyway. They need to alter the layouts in a pretty substantial way, make them smaller, remove the insane amount of clutter everywhere that does nothing but make you backtrack with zero combat and get you stuck every 5 steps... Players in the endgame are well past the looks of the game, gamplay should be the priority not the looks. Like come on guys!

bananapeel3529: Who exactly was "intolerant" to breaking the builds and why should it matter for EA? Where else will you break OP builds for the purpose of aggressive balancing if not in EA? This fear of making vocal minorities upset is slowing the progress of the game so much, it's tragic.

Traximmus: The endgame is cooked, I think a rework is needed rather than individual bandaid fixes.

doggypopa2000: Why did they even make this post lol

JEEBUSxHIMSELF: idk why this dawned on me now but that fight with doryani, who in the lead up is portrayed as a hyper intelligent thaumaturgist trying to end death itself, and his machine is just a giant crab. ALL THINGS RETURN TO CRAB

The1rust: While I don't feel like Johnathan and Mark are actively against the players I do feel like they're really really trying to hold on to certain philosophies and ideas given how we have a glimpse on what they're going to address (or lack thereof) issues the community are vocal about in the upcoming .2 release.

For starters, they seem to be going all in with towers when towers are one of the largest complaints you often find with the end game where setting up maps through towers is basically a worse version of sextants. Adding more layouts won't do anything, in fact, it might make more realize that tower maps are the best in terms of layouts and the fact that they don't require you to hunt down rares with the tradeoff being they can only roll scourge.

Secondly, still nothing about crafting and this is the main point I am going to be basing my decision on as to whether or not I want to switch to PoE2 as my main game since I am an SSF player. Being mum on another large patch gives credence that they really are happy with how it is now and, in spite of adding systems later with content updates, we likely won't be seeing any meaningful changes any time soon.

Third, applying the PoE1 content and update cycle to a game that's in EA is such a bad call. Not only do you have to wonder how much longer it makes the game be in an EA state but it undermines the purpose of EA where they should be focusing on testing, balancing and changing as much as possible rather than allowing issues to linger for months on end.

They talk about finding a hook for players to return to when the hook should be a game which is constantly moving forward and we can feel confident about an expectation that if something is busted now it's not a coin flip as to whether or not it'll be addressed sooner or later. Worse yet, they throw so much on to an economy reset to work on that they don't get around to it and it gets pushed to the next one like the Waystone stash tab which would allegedly be out shortly after .1 dropped but we aren't even being given affinity in case they intend to rework the Waystone system.

Fourth, Ben said it best where if you need to use waypoints in a map then that should be throwing up a ton of red flags for how awful the designs are along with how puzzling it is to not have a map boss in each map.

That's not to say they haven't been working hard; the work they've already put in has been excellent and that's what really fires up the community when it comes to supporting the developers.

GGG has afforded themselves a lot of patience and leeway from me because of how phenomenal they've been for the past 12 years and likely why I have 540 hours and counting in PoE2. I'm more than happy to stick it out in order to get the best live experience possible but I feel like they're mishandling the EA period and aren't being overly receptive for the above issues which makes me a little concerned if they continue to dig in rather than bend.

Phew.

Tpike777: There is ZERO chance of this game being fully released in 2025 lol. I would be absolutely amazed if they're able to pull that off.

JonUKcitizen101: Why does this feel like them trying to justify poor game designs now people are leaving.

FractalPrism.: biggest poe2 issues:

-xp loss on death, remove it completely.

-bodyblocking is stupid. remove it. dodge roll should always pass through enemies.

-things that kill you in one hit, dont care why, it always sucks.

-corpse explosion.

-aoe manadrain / flask drain. you cant fight.

-enemies that rush at you / leap / teleport then explode on a timer over and over.

-enemies that perma sprint.

-summons that appear at your feet / surround you.

-visuals that dont match actual collision of enemy attacks. "i thought it didnt hit me".

-attacks that dont have a visual or its so tiny you cant see it or its blocked by other effects or unreactable bc it happens too fast.

-trading is awful, many fake listings and time wasters, no response sucks. make it identical to currency exchange.

-make vendor sell all tiers of maps, running out is annoying. its feast or famine.

-losing mods on map death, you spend all this time with towers and jucing the map itself and lose it all on one death? no.

-rework ascendency difficulty. you're meant to get all the points to complete your build so make it reasonable to obtain. for some builds its too difficult.

alaskabicyclecenter: Really hope we can see some major reworks of the end game. The current mapping system can be very linear at points.

Brewticus: im taking a break to play kingdome come 2 , cant wait for the new updates poe2 is great

Maxdady01: Does anyone else read every version of POE2 Patch Notes and posts in Jonathan Rogers voice?

tiltingart9276: Im concerned I don't see in the "Biggest problems" section, that drops and crafting are UNEXISTENT. This would directly make me come back to the game even without a major patch, since I want to play SSF, and it's literally pointless and stupid unless you're a streamer getting paid for playing. Actually concerned.

k.h.raider9329: I honestly and really disliking the rng aspect of progression in the endgame mechanics of PoE2. Breach seems to be the only mechanic that progresses at a fairly decent rate (if you can even complete a Breach). The rest are either a total slog, complete rng to progress, or both and it's just so boring
