Path of Exile 2 is HYPE! Newest Gameplay Updates For The Sequel of GGGs Beloved Classic

vandal_prime9934: Skill gems were always items, and the passive skill tree is still there in POE2 :D

DieselMadox: I’m so ready for this. With how poor Diablo 4 launched, and POE was a bit much for me. POE 2 seems more my style. Can’t wait

maurusII: There are some mistakes here, but most importantly of all, the passive skill tree will still be there, and the skill gems have always been there, but instead of having to slot them in equipment like PoE, you simply have 9 slots for active skill gems on your character, each of which wil have 5 slots for support gems by the end of the game. In addition, active skill gems no longer have an associated color, and the support slots can hold any gem color, as long as you have the required stats.

The uncut gems which can drop at random, with a certain number of guaranteed drops, have a gem level from 1 to 20, which dictates which skills you can turn them into, as each active skill has a minimum level of gem that can hold it. You can also use uncut gems of a higher level to increase the level of one of your skill gems, instead of unlocking a new skill, which enhances the skill's effects. Most importantly there are no class-specific skills, just like PoE1.

The skill tree is also much different, for two main reasons: the first is that it is much easier to respec (in terms of costs), which means that you can experiment with your build without blocking yourself, and the second is that the small nodes which give you attribute points are no longer fixed; you can choose which attribute they will increase, and respeccing an attribute node to change its attribute also costs less than unallocating it to place the skill point somewhere else, and you don't need to unallocate all the skill points after it to be able to do so, which makes it relatively easy to meet the requirements for support gems.

Lastly, the number of new classes is 6, being Warrior, Druid, Sorcerer, Monk, Huntress, and Mercenary; there are 6 returning classes, being Marauder, Templar, Witch, Shadow, Ranger, and Duelist, and the Scion is the only class from PoE1 that won't appear in PoE2. The new and old classes wil share starting locations in pairs (inthe order listed), and the passive skills close to the starting area of each class will change slightly to better differentiate each class from its paired class.

Not____Applicable: Nope. I’m not getting hyped for Tencent I mean GGG newest title. They get too much attention for making an Arpg that is literally “lemme make some currency, then I’ll buy gear to make more currency just to sell that currency for maps that make me more currency for more gear”. The gameplay loop is so boring I almost fall asleep every time I try to play another league. Diablo has the same problem too so don’t give me the “go play Diablo” schpeal. Both of those devs just need to make better games.

vojinvmilojkovic7622: I am indeed shivering with excitement. The hype is real

brendosteez: ITS ALMOST TIME

mikereyes2269: Animations look like a generational leap over D4, and I enjoy D4 now. PoE2 looks insanely good.

mattm7798: So glad they made this a full blown sequel. The initial idea that it was an "update" to the base game always sounded goofy to me. I was like ok, so this is just a really big DLC?

Vonyccc: Can't wait !!
