tlambert01588: Mageblood is the ultimate utility chase item. Instilling orbs allow you to have increased effects that are ALWAYS on. You can eliminate the need to have gear resistances, you can be immune to stuns, ALWAYS ON suped onslaught, massive critical strike chance, and of course crazy movement speed. The possibilities are varied and fit into almost every build. I always choose my builds around acquiring a mageblood because it usually signifies a finish line with that particular build. Playing with one is pretty dangerous however, because after you use it, it is very hard not to want to slap it on every build you can.

KingTanno: I like it that you are returning to your first build on PoE to see how well it can go with the new knowledge. I myself this league am also doing one of my first and favorite builds (detonate dead). It wasn't the first, but it was so long ago that I played it, and the fun fact is I never played it to end-game, cause my PC used to be really shit, and due to many effects and explosions happening in maps due to mob count, I couldn't play it cause of FPS spikes. So now after multiple years I'm returning to it again :D Coincidentally I'll be also doing blight this league. Will be waiting for a video of your experiences in blighted maps.
