Vertigo2688: Uniques are dogshit. Crafting is not crafting, it's pure gambling, scroll of wisdom with extra steps. Atlas is dogshit. Mapping is dogshit. Campaign is goated. Boss fights, if kept meaningful, are great. Build diversity is close to non-existent. Some of these will definitely be addressed, some won't and whoever thinks otherwise is high on copium. Oh, yeah, and trading is dogshit.
Edit for campaign: while it is still the best part of the game, some of the maps from act 2-3 definitely need fucking toned down. They're just too large for no reason, imo.
unholyarthur1: tbh that post was a bunch of nothing burger tho
Sionnach-ni6vf: Considering the tone of the PoE2 post, I wouldn't be surprised if the reason they decided to do a PoE1 event is not because of player outcry, but because they realized that at this rate, they would end up with no PoE1 content for almost a year, and no PoE2 content for like 4 months.
rundown132: Honeymoon phase is over, glad people are calling out PoE2 EA's flaws
Manubrium23: My favorite thing about crafting is I always exalt crap 95% of the time or get the stat you need but it rolls the lowest tier (I JUST LOVE HIGH ACCURACY ROLLS), then Chaos to remove the best stat.
Dayvson_Costa: 1 - crafting
2 - crafting
3 - crafiting
...
99 - crafiting
100 - on death effects
byronavihai3787: I stopped playing lvl 91 because I had spent the past 50h grinding without a single drop that improved my equipement. I was using the 3-1 reforge, slamming items with potential, even chaosing some in the hopes of the promised good loot... nothing. I went back to D4 season 7 and actually had more fun with the agency I had over loot in D4, with the tempering enchantment masterworking. I want to love PoE 2, but as long as crafting is dogshit, I will wait for the next patch
Станислав-д9ч: Still waiting for waystone stash. Even for me, a very-very casual player, it is so hard to manage and organise everything related to waystones and tablets - my stash is a permanent mess(
maf0uz: Crafting, On Death Effects, and still being 1 shot with 85% evasion acrobatics max res (as Rax said, forces you into energy shield as the only playable mitigation option).
insomniaddictesp: I really hate on death effects in any game. If this is the only possible threat you can give me, is a one shot I didn’t see with a million elements on the screen, it will never feel good.
marzatplay: Missing 2 VITAL points that need to be addressed. Crafting is not actually crafting, it's gambling. Trading is ridiculous and tedious without an in game auction house...yet the positive toxicity this game receives is mind blowing
sethjones6711: Rax “I have 9 builds and I can think of a lot more to make”
Rax two minutes later “I look at every character and say, how can I get you the most energy shield possible”
readysetmoses: I am losing interest, the endgame is half baked, and the endgame combo of: one life per map, dying loses xp, dying loses all waystone buffs combined with the bs deaths is very frustrating.
elderwiz3165: Agree on the poison and burning ground effects. I never know if it's mine or enemy poison/burning ground until I stand in it and see my health drop.
georgegavrila9031: Feel too much like a casino: RNG in craft, RNG in boss paterns, RNG in delirium maps. No control.
And forces too much to spend time out of game (especially trade). Why would a game push you to go out of game?
echoesofmalachor3700: As far as I’m concerned the King in the Mist doesn’t exist. I’m in the same boat as Raxx. Dozens of hours in t15 maps without a single invitation
grantanderson7004: I think Diablo 4 had a pretty elegant solution for mapping when you need to kill an elite pack you missed. They could have the "Enemy Horde Approaching" system where they warp the last couple of elites directly to you towards the end of the map.
enqubas: I only craft something if it has certain things:
#1 Rarity
#2 Movement (boots)
#3 Resists
#4 Rarity
#5 Rarity
#6 % Phys damage
#7 Phys damage
#8 Rarity
1Fabe: During mapping for 30 hours there was one single waypoint who actually helped me
GodfreyTheCreator: I bet if this game was called Diablo 5, it would be getting raked through the coals
lkfcalvin: For towers, one suggestion is to change them to “lighthouses”, where you can choose to aim the torch at the top of the lighthouse to the direction you want, which will affect the area of effect of tablets.
owlmostdead9492: If they really decide to only patch/fix/add things every couple of months, POE2 won't be ready for the next 5 years. They are way too slow.
Its concerning enough for me to stop spending money on GGG until I see something that'll change my mind.
Krikenemp18: 100% agree on crafting. Most players have absolutely no reason to ever engage with the abject RNG when they can instead use the same resources to guarantee what they want immediately by trading. The last thing you want is to design a system that most players are discouraged from engaging with, and it seems like this unbalanced relationship is crashing the player economy. Now, a highly RNG crafting system might not be so bad if item drops were a viable source of upgrades, but they're just not. I went entire acts of the campaign with maybe one or two minor upgrades from natural drops, and one major upgrade every other act that finally allowed me to feel like I was just keeping up with the game instead of struggling tooth and nail to both kill and not get one-shot.
IronBear47: As a casual try-hard who put in 300 hours in the first few weeks I have not played in the last few weeks because of the economy. Until there is an auction house of some kind implemented that can regulate the economy… I wont come back. I love the game and love everything but the economy. They are so close to an absolutely perfect arpg that can have the “best ever” label on it.
Axetwin: Cast on Freeze needed nerfing, but in typical GGG fashion, they over nerfed it. That's what GGG continues to fail to grasp after 12 years of running Path of Exile. Players will always grumble when you nerf but over nerfing is what actually pisses people off. A nerf should never brick a build because then you have to question what's even the point of the skill in the first place. The fact that GGG didn't expect that level of backlash makes me question how in touch they are with their community. GGG has a pattern of over nerfing and under buffing and I cannot for the life of me figure out how after all this time they still haven't found the right balance between the two adjustments.
You said GGG is developing the game they want to make, and that's what they should be doing. But I feel like what they want comes at the expense of the player experience. Like for instance not wanting to make telegraphs clearer because it would take away from the art style. Are they serious? They're seriously prioritizing art style over giving players more tools for basic survivability?
I get the frustration over using "it's early access" as an excuse. There are many core design things that GGG is already digging their heels in about that does give people the impression that GGG has no plans on changing or fixing. Crafting is a perfect example of this. During the Q&A last month, they doubled down and dug their heels in on this idea that crafting is fine the way it is.
On death effects is a twofold problem. Most of them still deal way too much damage which means you need to wait but some of those effects can take up to 8 seconds to dissipate. It feels like it's designed to intentionally waste your time at all levels of gameplay. Early, mid, end, you have to wait up to 30 seconds (since enemies don't all die at the same time) for the 20 different on death effects to go away before you can move on.
MadsFeierskov: They have all the elements to make crafting good, but it doesn't work if every omen is worth 20 exalts, because buying items will always be 10 times more efficient.
They could totally make some omens that would make the crafting feel a lot less like a slot machine.
The crafting in PoE is better in some ways, but a lot of it only works for blasters, because you sometimes need to reroll something a hundred times to get what you're looking for, which isn't really any less of a slot machine.
