Are These Nerfs REALLY As Bad As They Sound? Path of Exile 2 Dawn of the Hunt

Aggronaut: My general outlook on POE2 is pretty low right now. I am not sure if I am going to play Friday or not. Mostly I am in waiting mode for the next Last Epoch season.

loganharvey8086: Not upset that they nerfed things. It's a beta. Things will change as players find broken interactions. Just not seeing how some of their choices are going to improve the fun. I'll still try it out since they are adding so many things but I just have lower expectations

TerenceSkilll: Some of the nerfs make no sense to me. For example the demon dog is now just useless, Hexblast or flameblast, the change to cepters, eldrich battery is basicly dead. Probably some more that i cant remember.

worldreg: They are nerfing the dad gamers for sure. The top end will still find broken builds with massive budgets, but the casual slow player will struggle more and achieve less. I found 0.10 I spent hours in the endgame and barely made any currency and couldn't even unlock the special atlas passives. The one portal made mapping stressful . If I find its just 0.20 more souls like and less chill at the end game , I will quit early like I think many will. I also don't have the hand health to run multiple combos continually, there is a reason one button builds are sought after in all ARPGs for end game.

Noxxvideos: I see it as a time to rediscover the meta and what's good. 100 new uniques is going to shake things up a lot.

socialdistancing1289: not sure if i'll even play this patch seeing how little of the actual issues are addressed. might level the new character but i'm not hyped at all. it al needed so much more time in the oven :(

titanicjack6744: Yea. Was waiting for your take. As someone who made 9 builds, and none of them the three meta builds, I’m excited to see how this is going to shake out.

Hopefully the endgame feels better and is more accessible when not playing the stupid OP builds.

Nataz06: I am super excited to play, I was def ready for some changes. Sure they changed a ton of stuff but as you said, this is normal for us that have played poe 1

IdyllicMullet: I love the idea of a battle of attrition as long as building intelligently allows you the chance to come out on top. But, mana has been the thing holding that back in campaign. If these changes bring mana management into a reasonable place, i think the speed of combat could be in a good place now. Maybe.

MangoHero247: I don’t understand why they can’t just nerf the build vs complete obliterate it. Reminds me of blizzard but at least blizzard has an excuse saying the sever is lagging vs your having to much fun. I came here for the diversity and now there’s 1-2 builds per class just like d4. Like what the heck is going on over there

4Skyrim: Im glad they are going with nerfing exploited builds, people dont want to put any effort in the gameplay they just go for the I win builds and let it carry them because they are bad at the game...

nathanchalmers2244: There are going to as many or even more very busted builds in this patch too.. it's on brand like you said . Zoomy isn't going any where

brandonrudloff3221: I don't want to be able to nuke everything, but honestly character defenses are too weak. Most life builds get 1 shot in tier 10 maps. If they don't want us to nuke and zoom, then they need to give us the ability to rarely die. The average build should only be dying to bosses and occasionally a rippie rare, that is not the case now in high tier maps, as white and blue packs kill you if they get to you.

henno6x6: I will hold judgment until playing on the weekend, from what I can see it should be far better with significantly more build diversity (huntress excluded as it's new) any singular unique that is dominating should be hit with the nerf hammer with like 2 weeks notice to give time for people to play it and for those already playing to find an alternate option for it.

neppity5887: From the lens of what works right now, the patch is worrying. From the lens of all the new things we will find, it's incredibly exciting.

The infernalist ignite buff alone is making my mind race with ideas. If they make the Rhoa mount work with crossbows last minute I'm 1000% making a Rapid Shot/Plasma Blast ignite Infernalist. Embitter support to convert the 168-182% as extra fire into cold. I wonder if the cold convert then also carries over to instantly exploding oil grenades.

dirtnap9641: Who cares about the endgame, the early game was a shitslog and got worse. Difficulty has nothing to do with anything, it jsut isnt fun.

MrBuns-yi2hk: I'm going to be cautiously optimistic. Hopefully we at the very meast get some damage buffs for some garbage skills and maybe they will be playable?... Hopefully...

kassema9527: I agree with the sentiment that it is good to shake up the meta and I look forward to rediscovering the game. I am however slightly worried that they may have overdone the nerfs and slowed down the game too much.

InsPoE: What I want to know is if the changes from 1.5s to 1s Total Attack Time makes Rolling Slam feel good to play. It's such a satisfying skill to use in Act 1 but it falls off a cliff as enemies get faster and more complicated. Some Boneshatter action would be fun too, I didn't see any changes to Cultist Hammer implicit

mrmurphymil: I think its annoying that titans grip is almost mandatory for maces, i want to attack faster.

vzwson: Going LA Deadeye. Seems like a strong starter to speed farm rituals and currency.

Isabelle-mp8rk: The minimum 4 modifiers isn't for upgrading waystones, it's for getting your atlas passives in a corrupted nexus, upgrading waystones needs boss kills with a good enough waysstone chance. Still probably needs 4 mods in late yelllows and reds though.

brandonrudloff3221: I dont think ghostwrithe was the real issue. The issue was ES and a bug making this applied by CI and such they fixed those it in tons of ways. This body armour will be a .01% unique now as you have to get an amount of health that isn't even possible anymore with strength stacking nerfs to compete with high ES armour. I just hate the approach of nerfing stuff by 50% when you fixed known bugs with it and nerfed other things contributing to the use of the item. That on top of the fact that infernalist that really used this due to 3 nodes on the ascendancy reserving life got most of its different builds nerfed in both survivability and damage. Definitely feels like a push to make people play the bottom half of the tree. Definitely a nerf to the top end, but the buff to the bottom end feels lacking as enemy movement speed and pushing are huge issues for this slower type of gameplay they seem to want.

dylanstanfill2897: At the beginning still, and the way it looks to me, it's still going to be like 3 builds nuking the game, just a different 3 builds this time lol. Well, LA looks op still, so like 2 different builds.
