CovenantCome, all ye weary travelers, and seek refuge in the open arms of the Covenant. If you value kindness, altruism, and unity, look for our shining beacon in southeastern Everfall. Our enclave is a sanctuary for any who have lost their way. A cathedral overlooking the cemetery where we watch over the spirits of the dead to make sure they stay that way. We welcome any would be paladins who value mercy and kindness above all. We are a holy order, but not one that worships a higher power, we believe in the light of hope, the prospect of redemption, and the eternal victory of good over evil. Sit by the fire and warm your heart, there are many demons to slay, both outside our walls and inside ourselves.
Your first guide in the path of light will be Florina. A starry-eyed French woman who will introduce you to the ways of honor and mercy. Her brother Lethold, is our logistics expert. He is often wracked with worry, but he keeps a brave face. There is also Adjudicator Beatrice Roose, whose concern for the common people is great, but greater still is her determination to root out evil, even in the Covenant’s own ranks.
We carry on the creed of the famed Joan of Arc. The patron saint of France, who, despite popular belief, escaped her execution and found herself on this eternal island. The absence of death caused her to doubt her faith, but never her good will toward man. Her whereabouts are a mystery, though her tenants of kindness and bravery can be still seen in even the smallest of our deeds.
MaraudersOnly the weak hide behind secrets. Glory! Strength! And coin! Those are the pursuits of the Marauders. We have no patience for whispers or delusions of goodness. Let others others fiddle with books and wait for an answer to prayers that they'll never get. Fill your pockets with gold and prosper. That is the only salvation here. This land is proof that there is no higher purpose than getting rich and bathing in the blood of your enemies. Now—shut up and pick up a sword, throw back a few pints, and ally yourself only with those willing to pay the most.
Our enclave is a mountain fortress perched high in the hills of western Everfall where we can see our enemies coming and they can look up and tremble in their boots at our glory. Lieutenant Tibbs will introduce you to our ways. He’s a good bloke, a former British soldier and swashbuckler with a taste for mead and a hankering for battle. There’s also Lord Doctore Stou’Dahia. An African gladiator. She wields a massive greatsword and will readily laugh at any whelps who fall on their ass. Winifred Silas does not take kindly to young upstarts who believe they know better than her in the ways of strategy. Perform well or be reprimanded.
We walk in the footsteps of Lu Bu, a Chinese warlord whose alliances shift faster than a sandworm in a whirlwind. He has recently gone missing, but that’s his problem, not ours. Any Marauder worth their salt can fend for themselves.
SyndicateSpeak softly and carry a sharp knife. Take care who you share secrets with, even the trees have ears. Learn the hidden arts of the Syndicate, and unravel the mysterious lore of this land. We're a collective of alchemists, scientists, and thieves who know that the best weapons are a sharp mind and a hidden blade. If you're willing to follow science wherever it leads, even beyond the feeble morals of lesser men, our enclave could be your new home. It is an underground lair full of crystals, waterfalls, and whispered cants. In the north of Everfall, hidden under the mystical Azoth Tree, the dark truth of things awaits.
If this is your chosen path, you will meet some of our finest minds; Aventus Valenti, a talented Italian inventor who boldly pursues his experiments. Cleo Elsayad, an Egyptian arcanist, hundreds of years old. She guides us from behind both her desk and her iconic plague mask. Laurentes Krockes will be a mentor to the most aspiring occultists. His path may be morally questionable, but his results are hard to argue with.
We gather and spread the good teachings of our founder John Dee, a mathematician, astronomer, and communer with angels. His current location is unknown, but, like all mysteries of this island, it will be found out in time.
