RobbinnDaHood: As a story enjoyer, a GW lore enjoyer if you will, I enjoy the story in Janthir quite a bit. The story lacks in length yes, but they’ve put it to good use if you ask me. The quality in writing is markedly improved over the past two expansions.

mangoman93: What's been missing from the story are these big setpiece moments: the fights against balthazar, going to the underworld, fighting kralk under the mountain, going into the underwater reactor, etc. The story itself has been good and I love all the additional lore books. It really feels like the world is expanding instead of getting focused on just one little story beat and that's great. But I haven't had a "wow this is soo cool!"- moment since EoD.

meolloew: The reason they gave for the shift was to avoid crunch and content droughts but apparently that's not working out considering even with the reduced scope they're still struggling. I think the more obvious reason is the unannounced mmorpg project (gw3) eating up their resources but they can't really come out and say that.

dfg12382: I play the story and the map once. As long as they keep adding 10 man content I'm fine. Crying about another month of no content is hilarious to me. People live in full amnesia since the content gap after EoD. A year ago we would've never expected there to be another raid wing or something that's harder than HTCM. Now we got both. The game is shifting faster than ever. You won't get more anywhere for 25 bucks a year. If that's still not enough for you, better get your WoW/FF subscription going.

interloper8029: These so called expansions used to be called living story, and they used to contain far more content and be free. Its pretty obvious Anet only has a handful of people still working on GW2, and most of them are allocated to gemstore skins.

insideleft3584: making an early decision that could well make life easier for staff further down the line feels pretty modern and strange in a world of constant crunch but really should be the norm. Disappointing I guess when anything is going to be late but cool of them to get in early with this.

Maybe you can make an argument for EoD, but SoTO felt like jumping the shark and Janthir Wilds just kinda feels like "oh no, there's titans! And some mursaat lore!"

asgarzigel: Yeah, I do like a lot of the lore and side content in this update, but the story instances are just a bit of a nothingburger. When you boil it down, we are mostly running around looking for Mabons audio logs essentially. Janthir Wilds in general is mroe of a chill story I guess, but it is really missing any standout moments that all the other expansion stories had. Even Soto had the Cerus encounters at least.

Part of it is also that they reuse the same Titans for the story, open world, convergence and raid. Even in just the story you fight Greer and Decima like 3 times, it does kinda diminish them as a threat imo.

iframe1: I'm a say it, Gyala Delve update made me full doomer and last 2 expansions in my opinion smell like they are made by understaffed dev team so they can only do scrapyard approach to new content and so majority of it is frankensteined together from existing assets and any completely new stuff takes them longer.

I hope Gw3 will turn out amazing, but gw2 updates burned me out completely as majority of them is just meh. I mean I bought SotO and first map felt like fan made mod and new enemies were literally reskinned old enemies presented as completely new enemy, it's absurd...

BoredAndBrowsing: They need to make gw3 now. It feels like the content is all over the place now. Dont get me wrong, a lot of content isn't a bad thing, and it should be good...but the game just feels like it has too much and doesnt focus enough on any one aspect.
