vvhitevvabbit6479: Mesmer spear was indeed a blast to play, but the dependence on clarity and outer ring hit requirement to get it was a buzz kill in WvW. I'm glad to see the fix which doesn't punish players for missing but still rewards an outer ring strike.

syzxgamingx: Very disappointed with the pivot from the range threshold concept of Warrior, honestly. I really liked the general idea of a weapon that rewarded close-range kiting of enemies (or staying close to ranged ones) to maximize your effectiveness, while still attempting to stay out of range, and felt they needed to offer more incentive if that's what they wanted to go for as the skills just did not reward you hardly at all for that. Instead they pivoted away entirely. I definitely realize I'm in the minority, but kinda disappointed that now the entire mechanic sounds like it will just be "Ranged Cleave" as neither Rifle or Longbow are really that interesting either. Looking forward to ANet proving me wrong hopefully and still getting some enjoyment out of it in a few weeks.
JDub-TV: As a Guard main who's not the best at theorycrafting, I tried spear as a damage weapon in PvE. Maybe I didn't find the secret sauce, but the damage is subpar. I can pull those damage numbers with other weapons in hybrid builds, while providing a lot of boon support. Maybe these changes will help healing spear be more competitive with other options, but there's nothing in these changes to help with damage.

The Illuminated buff also doesn't feel very impactful to concern yourself with whether it's up or not, and no changes have been made to that either.

EyesOfGehenna: For me the biggest letdown was and is that the Guardian spear isn't much of a ranged weapon after all. Only Solar Storm has 900 range and the rest is built around melee. I would've loved to've seen an alternative ranged power weapon to the longbow for Guardian that is more DPS oriented than CC oriented but oh well
