MinnIsKill: before I even watch the video: my condolences
kureysalp: As an ele main things you said are true. Even at top benchmarks, you have lower damage than lots of classes with four/five times the effort. Condi weaver can deal 44.3k dps at its peak but its even harder than the power weaver. The reason I'm playing the weaver is it's really fun for me and I can keep it up with other players' damage.
Some tips:
- To increase the damage with almost no effort use Arcane Blast only on Fire/Air. You have extra power from Fire and extra ferocity from Air.
- You can actually deal good CC with sw/dg but you need to know your skills. You can swap to Air use 2 than instead of swapping to Air again, swap to Earth and now you can use 3 and 5 to deal more CC. You can do the same thing with sw/wh but use 4 instead of 5 but it has less CC damage than the dagger.
- If you are not gonna use the Weave Self, don't play Weaver this is not debatable. You can reach a burst 64k DPS at the beginning of your rotation and for short phased fight this is HUGE. Even if you can't complete your Weave Self you should use the skill because you are getting lots of buffs while using the skill. Getting buffs according to your attunement and getting HUGE decrease in attunement swap time. The point of completing Weave Self is you'll get all the buffs in the Weave Self and keep them for some time.

This class has really good bursts and can deal really good damage if you squeeze the class but it's not for you if you don't like doing four/five times the effort than the other players.

samuelfischer736: Totally agree with you on this Muk. It's something that has confounded me as an Ele main for a long time. Still we get more nerfs for some reason while other classes that can single button more DPS get new more powerful abilities. I'd switch what i main but I'm stubborn and i continue to hold out hope that videos like this will be seen by Anet and they might have mercy on us. Lol
SissiCat77: Dps weaver was my first Character and still my favorite and most played. I don't know how to play it well and it doesn't do much damage but I find it fun so for me it's ok

256shadesofgrey: This build you were playing is actually the power LI build for ele. You don't need to learn a rotation for it beyond the attunement swapping. You just do your fire-fire-air-air-repeat whenever those are off cooldown, and otherwise you mash whatever weapon skills you can and arcane blast if it's available (avoiding only those that move you away from the target, like that CC skill), and the other utility skills whenever you're in main fire. Basically attuenement rotation whack-a-mole everywhere else. At least that's how I learned it, and I was getting 34k the last time I tried.

But yeah, CC is nonexistent on this build, it's the worst kind of melee (i.e. half your weapon skills bring you close to your target if you weren't, so you can't even take advantage of max. melee range to freely move around), and it's extremely squishy. But it is the easiest power build for ele that I'm aware of, so that's what I use when I play ele and I can't do condi (tempest)...
Noobieswede: I wouldn’t mind a class that does purely dmg nothing else but is ofc 10-15k higher dps then builds who bring utility. There has to be some sort of reward for all of that.
Maitreya3001: As an ex Ele main, everything you said was correct and why I started losing interest in Ele and on a broader scale in the game overall. I know this isn't really a healthy perception, but I can't deny that I had and still have these feelings.
The biggest issue I have with Weaver is that there's no utility, 100% melee, fragile af.
When we still had staff, at least you could range for uptime (and the rotation was more fun).

Elementalist needs a weapon that can range (though it should be better in melee) and has utility to it Looking at you spear
alsymphony7868: As a weaver this is spot on pretty much. It 's funny how it took you 2 hours? to perfectly enscapulate weaver. You are just damage, and with how chaotic a fight can how fragile you are how easy it is for anything to mess the rotation up(mainly talking about self weave), it's really not worth it. I've been told time and time again that it wasn't and I will agree everytime. You bring nothing to the table but your damage that can be halved with anything going wrong.

If a new ele ask what specialization to take, get tempest or cata. The only reason why I play weaver is because I enjoy it, I also enjoy invoker from dota 2 for example.
aidonis98: It's almost as if, homogenizing the classes into the same realm of dps numbers, feels bad. Who could have seen this coming? They need to stop balancing around the 5 people at the top.
