GW2 The Top 5 Reasons Why I Still Play GW2

JosepiSopp: gw2 has best mounts hands down lol. its the reason why its ruined mounts in other mmo's for me

snuggler100: I started my MMO life playing WoW. I started at the tail end of vanilla, just before the first expansion release (The Burning Crusade). Occasionally I'd get upset with the game's direction, or simply get lured away by a different MMO... but I always ended up returning to WoW. I tried Rift, Warhammer, Star Wars, Aion, Wildstar, etc, but none of them truly stuck with me (and some of them don't even exist anymore). My last experience in WoW was the Shadowlands expansion, which I didn't like. I took long break from MMOs after that, thinking that perhaps my gaming years were over. On a whim I tried GW2 (almost a year ago now) and I was instantly hooked. I've been super happy with the game (and yet super bummed out that I had never tried it sooner. Anet definitely needs better marketing). It sucks to lose all my previous WoW progression, literal years of gameplay, but oh well. I'm enjoying GW2 way, way more than I ever enjoyed Warcraft. I'm never going back to Blizzard again. :)

emeraldnachos4752: youre my biggest reason ruby. And the fact that i can come back to the game and pick up right where i left off whenever i have time or are in the mood to play

battlebots1: I'm glad pvp made it onto this list. It's my #1 - I was a little late to the game, only starting gw2 in 2022, but it's become my favorite competitive game, as someone who almost exclusively plays pvp games. It's so fun and fluid and the skill ceiling is staggering.

Edit: nvm you're right, combat is #1. Hit the nail on the head: it's fun to fight.

relentlessnights4211: Great video concept and presentation. Fun to watch.

Tankunish: I joined Guild Wars 2 around March 2013 and I have 14,126 hours in game, with my longest break from the game being 2 months... To say I'm obsessed is an understatement xD What keeps me playing is that I have friends (in and out of game) and family who I play with every day. That really adds to the enjoyment of any game though. Other than that I love the story, the world (map completion is one of my favorite activities), just the vast amount of things I can do. Every day that I get on I always do something different and that always helps to keep me from getting burnt out. I also don't take things seriously. Lots of time people ask me "Oh how do you farm gold? How do you farm this? Farm that?" and I always do not have an answer for it lol I don't farm and I dont really do anything that has me grinding for any one thing. I take things slow and go day to day just enjoying the game :}

Oryyyt: Fr I have severely taken this game for granted for years now. Everytime I felt burnt out and wanting to try something new, I end up just going back to Gw2 with higher appreciation. Bdo, New World, TnL, Blade and Soul, Eso, Lost ark. Tried them all. They do have far better individual aspects and people prefer that to this. But Gw2 just has the combination of systems that suited my addiction. The combat felt very weird at 1st coming from action games on controller or straight up point and click. Playing something that has the engagement of an action-rpg like witcher or elden ring with all the dodging and movement paired with the mouse pointing. When it clicked for me I just couldn't play anything else. I just wish they'd represent the action better by updating the animations. It just looks disjointed a lot of times. I know they can do it cause the mount animations are just the best maybe even outside of mmos(Rdr2 don't have griffons). I've spent more time just flying around that thing just doing ow than grinding for whatever I was aiming for at that time. My only biggest grip is the obstructive pop-up numbers. I wish there was an option to resize or realign them to the health bar like in new world.

KokoKrunchs: The fluidity of combat, mounts and AMAZING open world exploration that keeps me playing. It’s not perfect but one of the best game out there.

dannyflorida: Your reasons match mine, but I would add the World, which is probably my number one. By the World, I mean the fantastic map design, including the art style, and all the assets on them. Exploration in Tyria is "S" tier. It seems no matter how many times I explore, I find something I wasn't aware of. There are so many funky hidden places, cool interactive items, and neat NPC interactions all over. It's why I try to explore on foot as much as possible; because it's so easy to miss these wonderful things zooming by on a mount.

ediGoesPRO: I agree on all your points xD

Dragases11: Nice video and i'll put higher the community

slimgin4: hey so uhh what expansion do i get im a broke man so i dont have the money for all of them any recomendations?

spiritlance364: I also just completely love this game! I've played since 2012 and I'm returning now after a couple years off. I just got Path of Fire and End of Dragons this week.

The amount of content is INSANE and I agree with everything you said. The hardest part of the game for me is just enjoying it and not turning it into a second job because it's so easy for me to obsess over making gold to convert to gems.

Zinkrus: very smooth gameplay bro, may I know your PC specs?

MasterCarlock: a fellow boomer, hello

SheriXP: I love this game, too! I would play and take a (long) break often... but I'm back for good now! :) It is still the best game that keeps me wanting to play after all these years (gw1 and gw2 beta player, also!)

BrolyRajang: Im back on gw2 and the game us still Amazing

MrBloopy3: Its good game.

arge12: Kodan race was a miss opportunity by anet

dragonsieu76: You pretty much hit the nail on the head, especially combat. I got burnt out from EQ1(Everquest) and EQ2 and have since preferred more casual games and GW2 with all the innovations(shared loot, account wide unlocks, etc) on release, allows you to take breaks. The devs recognized the flaws of the older OG MMO.

During the content drought before HOT released, I burnt myself out on Fractals since it was one of the best gold makers. I now don't need to optimize gold making and my play time is much more casual and enjoyable, which GW2 allows you to do, since most things you do will progress your account wealth, even though it may not be the best gold/hr.

MisterNo1111: Nice video, wos fun woch it.

I enjoy gw2 aswell, its my first and only mmorpg and game that i play

albertoangulo4176: Ayo, to what extent can I enjoy the game without purchasing the expansions?. I'm currently waiting for discounts, but until then I could play full f2p (maybe?, idk)

wanya6046: I am still playing cause of fights in wvw as the combat shines there the most in my opinion

although the power creep over the years is kinda scary by now

I sometimes miss the times where just blasting water fields on regrps was enough to sustain your party its gotten alot spammier and faster I would say

moorfim: For me is i can just jump in and do meta and kill big bosses etc

Alot of other games you need preper, time and schedule etc etc for those things.

Also other games you always have keep up with gear etc

Gw2 is perfect for me as casual player

RobGamer1949: Nice presentation

leftrom9738: True, combat in gw2 is genius. I dislike the bazillion-skills mmos or action-combat ones. Gw2 combat seems simple at first but with swapping/different weapons/combos (fields, etc)/versatility in utility skills/different builds, it takes dedication and understanding to pull higher/highest dps.

nexeus7302: GW2 gotta be one of the worst MMO's, like ever, even mobile games are betta' than this crap..
