stevienowonder6692: With a heavy heart, I must agree with you. Very glad to hear your health is recovering
fatboy1546: Damn, I'm surprised to see you voice such discontent. But it is about time.
I think many share your growing sentiment that despite more story, the execution is too limited due to the new expansion model. Its such a shame the fabled Mursaat lore is a victim of this, similar to the Jormag arc. There is hope with them extending next patch by a month, but yeah, it was plain what was happening when they went from 3-4year expacs to yearly. A massive drop content.
GiffMeChakraMagic: I like your honesty and relaxing voice.
4d4l11: Thank you so much for being honest, as a GW1 veteran, Im burned out by the past releases for GW2 had me disappointed..
lostsanityreturned: Despite your request these reviews will help determine whether I buy the expansion or not. Launch player who was burnt by SotO and is just waiting to see if the game recovers.
JaredSvB: I'm glad you're touching upon the really choppy presentation and display of the lore. I for one, despite being a vet of close on 17 years of GW, am very unlikely to buy another expac.
AzureRoxe: I'm honestly repenting after buying Janthir Wilds.
This expansion is not really worth it, it's a slightly better SOTO at best.
meolloew: Completely agree with everything you said. I'll never truly leave gw2 but the content releases since Anet started working on that new mmo/gw3 just aren't doing enough to keep me engaged longterm anymore. The ideas are there but it's very evident the resources are not which is a shame :(
slytherben: You're at your best when you're open and honest like this!! Public presentation is so sanitized now. The public craves authenticity
rath8028: I feel like the beginning of the end was EoD. The end of the dragon cycle meant the end of the game for me. I played the recent stuff and it's clear their focus is elsewhere. I don't whether to expect a GW3 announcement soon (lol) or to see GW2 end of life trickle by until they have to shut the servers down. Heart of Thorns was the best expansion IMO, I stand by that 100%. Sad to hear you say these things but I've agreed with this for years.
YashodharAithal: Nothing but disappointment for me from EoD last patch, been with the game since HoT, I'm feeling GW2 is just a shell of its former self, but still hoping things get better, am I naive?
VarjoPira: The sadistic Sunday villain trope is growing tiresome, too. Why do we need to paint the Mursaat as even MORE sinister, instead of adding nuance and displaying culture over just written lore books. The tone between ALL the villains is too similar. It's too Marvel-y, too "modern", at times.
At least Isgarren is a highlight.
SilhouetteGaming1: Glad to see im not the only one throwing some shade on this patch. It wasn't good.
nevew: The best GW2 content is yours. Pls keep doing it
Webz-r4y: It will be disappointing if they are not working on GW3. I mean cmon the recent content and expansion is so underwhelming.
Kometblaze: Quite a few of the player base expressed their concern with this cadence, and their concern is proven to be right
MortSalazar: Sounds like they're losing momentum or drive for GW2
Hopefully they're diverting resources for something big rather than... losing money and players
daveross37: I finished everything in about 2-3 hours. Little to no story. It felt phoned in. The masteries are a joke. I don't see much replay value in the new map. Except for rifts farming.
Raapnaap: The game is in a lighter form of maintenance mode. It is clear the bulk of the team is working on GW3. I just wish they would NOT touch big stories when clearly they lack the resources to do it properly, because every time GW2 dev resources have been limited, significant aspects of the story and lore have suffered.
GW2 had an amazing foundation to build from via GW1. What will GW3 build from if they butchered everything in GW2? There will be nothing left to tell.
lostsanityreturned: Something to note, the "smaller expansions" are paid living seasons, but smaller than living season 1-2. So more of a paid icebrood saga... but icebeood saga had more cinematics and story.
MMOs in general have sidelined the RPG aspect. And I hate that... I get why people don't appreciate those elements, but I don't think we are stuck in a world where it has to be either or.
One comment on ADHD, given the mechanics behind it, it is as likely to result in seeking rewards for shiny sake as it is in seeking new experiences (dopamine seeking behaviour is funny like that). My partner and our housemate sit in the former category (I do have a friend who is in the latter though, and myself on the Autism spectrum have traits that result in the latter).
nevew: Very honest review, I liked it. I agree a lot with what you said.
EliferetaX: I completely agree with everything.
CadeAid1: I long for the days of the pre-SOTO Guild Wars 2
I purchased Janthir Wilds, and I have no desire to log in to play this.
MarkusJackDijkgraaf: I can't play GW2 anymore, it only feels like busywork with too little return on investment, which saddens me.
JuniperoHendricks: The best GW2 expansions were the friends we made along the way and the content we did together. Too bad those friends have all left the game
JatZey2: I feel like with everything Anet does, wether it is story, technical things, gameplay etc.
They always start off with an amazing base and great concepts but instead of refining it and making it truly great, they just say fuck it halfway through and move on to the next thing.
I've never played a game before that has SO many things that are SO close to being perfect but got rushed or just straight up abandonded instead.
kesamek8537: You are exactly on target with all of this feedback and if current era ANet has any sense they will use it to improve while they still can.
