bion-geek-le1109: What I love most with the GW2 professions is that while they can all perform the roles of tank, healer and DPS, they all do it in different and unique ways that always fulfil some sort of niche, making each profession unique and fun while also being useful
ErgoProxy12345: Dragonhunter is what happens when a guardian looks at a Longbow Ranger and thinks « i could do that ».
riaanbar: I would strongly suggest watching Mukluk "A Stronger Start: A Guild Wars 2 Guide for New Players 2024" very quick going over every Elites
MrAddummm: you should watch a video that goes just a bit into the elite specs, without spoiling it too much. they really do change completely how the classes play.
jps342: "casual game" heard that a few times too, as you said there's far far more to this game than what it first looks like, "easy" to just play and get by but very "hard" to master, I quit from 15 yrs hardcore mythic raiding in WoW quite a few years back after all the cooperate BS that happened with Blizzard, I just could not continue to support a company like that no matter how good their game was. and GW2 I just started to pass time, abit of fun etc......2 yrs later yeah, I'm hooked, this game is something else a REAL underrated gem
To WoW players GW2 expansions are half the price of WoW's, the base game is FREE and there's NO subscription
Zyphent: It's definitely true GW2 has the most diverse classes in the genre. You could put 10 necromancers in a room and none would have the same loadout because everyone can mix and match different weapons, elite specs, talent builds, and relics, and a dagger necro plays nothing like a heal scourge, which plays nothing like a great sword reaper. And it's not minor differences, they'll have completely different skills and rotations.
Notsram77: Hey! It's Caffeinated Dad!
He's got a great channel, and helped me get back into GW2.
nielsjensen4185: While there are only nine base Professions when you factor in the Elite Specs there are 36.
gahngis8158: So glad to see the journey continues.
FirstZenGate: This video really just scratches the surface. He's giving you a difficulty and survivability and dps rating for some of these classes without mentioning that elite specs completely turns these ratings on their head. So dont be intimidated by hearing that ele is super difficult for example. Elementalist's catalyst elite spec has incredibly easy to use rotations and amazing survivability. The opposite of core ele. Thief's daredevil elite spec has you evading for 90% of your rotation which makes it super easy to survive compared to base thief. Same thing for all the other specs. Necro has an elite spec that makes you much squishier in exchange for being a glass cannon.
Not only that, but the description he gives for each classes unique mechanic changes outside of base as well. Mesmer's chronomancer spec has you reversing time to reset your resources, cooldowns, and positioning. I would say most players will generally use elite specs anyways, so just hearing about how the core functions doesn't give you a great idea of endgame.
