guizhelhert: Why did Rytlock leave Elona?
It was Sohothin there!
rfnoproblemo: this is a fun casual game, u came from work and just relax and play for a bit, most of us dont have time to watch twitch
dragoonism: Some games are just not the best to watch others play. Gw2 lacks the watch ability of other mmos
SilhouetteGaming1: The partner scene is a joke really. Your content is some of the best in the space. The rest is fluff and glazing. I will make some more videos regarding GW2 but i cant praise the studio when you watch the Playstation State of Play streams, and have games like Monster hunter that overlaps with the appeals of the game as a whole.
luca7675: I think one big reason why creators quit is because there isn't enough content to make guide videos about. Why is that a problem? Well, hear me out.
There are mainly 3 forms of content creation for video games. Let's play's, Compilations/funny montages, and guides/tutorials. Lets play's dont work super well for mmo's because of an mmo's nature. Tutorials/guides work well and get a lot of clicks but you can only ever make one tutorial per feature, so the number of videos/amount of content that can be made is very much finite. Making actually good compilations/montages on the other hand is extremely time-consuming aka expensive to make. That makes them a huge risk for the creator, considering how popular gw2 is and how many views you can realistically get. So in the end the content potential for gw2 is just not there in the long run. Specially if you want gw2 content creation to be your job.
michu1247: For me its looking like New players are coming to the game while veterans are leaving.
Guild wars 2 was never a game that was fun to watch. This game has no spectacle nothing can go wrong in endgame so its just boring.
In terms of content creators I think there is no content for them to show.
When was last time we speculated about story?
When we got something interesting in terms of gameplay?
When we got some podcast with people talking about state of the game?
GW2 clearly has problems with content creation lately.
Even memes are gone.
SalAquma: Les be honest here - In Black Desert Online and in Final Fantasy - Can you earn gold as easy as guild wars 2 ?, and buy cosmetics from cash shop as easy as guild wars 2? no - most other MMO RPG it makes me feel like my gear is everything and having a second grinding job, and in Guild Wars 2 it feels like my skills and knowledge is everything and more important than what I'm wearing. In League of Legends in other MMO RPG PVP Rank - You can play but you barely get rewarded, even though the reward is a bit sht in Guild Wars 2 PVP, it gives me more rewards than my time spent in League of legends and final fantasy. I also can use my gold to whatever I want, I can give it or take it from someone, I have more control in my gold like I fkn own it unlike other games who makes me feel like I own nothing. Only in Guild Wars 2 PVP and WvW I felt I'm rewarded for being a PVP player in an MMO RPG all of the other games I played PVP in, they treat me like trash, and punished me for playing PVP. There is just few things missing with guild wars 2 dyable weapons a better house system and more options that more than 5 people can enter. Add a fkn elf race and dwarf race, and cat girls, and it would sky rocket, but they won't cause they want to feel special about their game. About having a salad race, and a goblin rat race, and some cats on steroids.
Buran01: The current expansion schedule feels more like a season pass gthan anything, since you aren't paying the price of a full game but you also are not getting new specializations and the new content is really thin. Care about PvP from ANet is lower than 0 and to me the WvW changes killed any interest I have in that game mode. Since Februray of last year I've spent over 500 hours playing Last Epoch and now over 130 hours in Path Of Exile II; GW2 is something in which in some days I do enter, do the PvP daily, farm 10 minutes with my 21 alt parked characters and then I left it. I'm currently more interested in the addition of the Templar to PoE II and thje revamp of the Guardian in April for Last Epoch. I'm also onterested in Doom: The ark Ages and maybe Battlefield 7 IF doesn't suck (but I've not purchased a BF game since BF 4).
The only things in GW2 what are left to me is finishing Vision (8 achievements away from it) and crafting afew legendaries (I have all armors, all the other trinkets and 13 weapons), so given that you can easily craft 2-3 legendaries a year for free in 2-3 years I'll be entirely done with the game. In fact, I don't even care about balance patches despite I play mostly AFK 8near 11k matches).
Shadaaala: Their content release schedule is bad for the game, having releases once a year but this thin isn’t fun. We have a whole expansion and 1 single legendary, meh. I’d rather have an expansion ever. 2-3 years wich gives new elite specs, weapons, gen 4 legendaries etc instead of this content drip feeding
sylvarixreaper: i tottaly agree , i gave up on reaching Anet for support cuz even the bigger creators than me aren't getting attention either
Lanzetsu: To me most of the time the amount of people watching a game on twitch is opposite to people actually playing the game. Sure it could be a good hook initially but if you are playing you are usually not watching and vice-versa. Also most casual players don't watch "pros" or stuff like that, they just want to logn and chill ingame
nuggettscout5715: gw2 content creators have been brain dead since IBS. they have been trying to milk this shit as much as they can, and they know if they leave theyll lose some of their subs.
zooleebest: there can never be another EOD for gw2 again. those days are fun. watching my favorite streamer while failing meta is the highlight of my weekend.
La.máquina.de.los.sueños: "Money good", but money going elsewhere than back into GW2... so less and less content but more and more expensive gemstore skins (real often locked behind chest gambling) to bleed out the community. You can get online a few hours to get all rewards from festivals (same exact boring events since 11 years)... than could log off for months without missing anything except a few new expensive gemstore skins. The new expansion format dilute the content, therefor giving less material to work with.
Bramandin: I really dislike the direction the game has gone over the past few years. I don't wanna say it is unfixable but it's just not gonna happen. Devs are in completely wrong place in terms of mindset.
SteveWray: Honestly, content creators can be an absolute menace. Look at how that went down with eg Starfield.
Content creators want to improve their likes and subscribes and metrics, so all they do is produce content that gets a reaction, and that's usually more toxic and less useful.
snuggler100: Am I the only one who doesn't like that "swoosh" sound in these videos? Maybe once in a while would be okay, but not for the intro to EVERY new screenshot or image. It can get very irritating.
huh4484: As much as we wanna watch people do dailies for the 50000th time. Its just not fun to watch. Only thing thats kinda entertaining to watch is pvp. but pvp is toxic and kinda dead.
DestructX: I finished the story and never went to the new maps again
imjustkentaro: As a new content creator for GW2 the struggle is real. GW2 partner program is nonexistent and they have zero support for people who want to promote the game. Recording and editing videos is a huge time commitment with zero payoff. Blizzard has capitalized on this and cannibalized all MMO streamers to join Onlyfangs to promote Classic WoW. There's no competing with that. I make videos cause I'm passionate about the game and PvP but the reality is it's just a hobby and not even a low paying side gig.
whoisime: Overall financially they seem to be doing pretty well but one thing that worries me is that Q3 drop. That's the largest quarterly drop we've seen in years. Hopefully it's a one off due to how soto turned out and not a sign of volatility with the new model but I guess we'll see how JW turns out.
TimeLinesAreKey: Man great video! I still believe they can do something great for next year but if they don't improve marketing it won't be seen enough if it does happen. Also the game is taking a weird direction.. Slowly drifting away towards an unconnected fever dream Story.
monkeyrainbow542: i even barely touching the expansion now and just play wvw. instead of keep putting new playable areas i might suggest putting more effort in improving the existing ones like adding some new stuff or anything they can think of.
Legendary-Isekai-Productions: A lot of veteran players have left while simultaneously there is an influx of new players. GW2 retains it's casual play style, but to keep players coming back I think anet needs to shake things up a little more, I'd suggest a new playable race, 1 that has nothing to do with the whole... Commander role/routine which to be honest is a little stale these days!
didoma73: Great job with analysis as always
Theuubestofbuus: Great video
