YoshiP on OP Jobs, 3rd Party Tools More FFXIV Korean Fan Festival Interview

magpie_jazz: It's understandable to be averse to nerfs (nobody likes their job to be nerfed), but it's a mistake to strictly buff everything and virtually never nerf anything. At best, this just makes powercreep faster and harder.
robintheforeteller: "Cosmic exploration", "Garlemald restoration", meanwhile, Ala Mhigo sits there, with all that garlean rubble. lol.
JackWolf1: Gotta say this from the get-go:
Having new blood on the XIV team is a GOOD THING, because it means they can learn and grow, thus adding to the longevity of the game.
Everyone has to start somewhere, and it we didn’t have Ichikawa start on the Dark Knight Quests, we wouldn’t have Shadowbringers.
xXLordYggdrasillXx: I honestly hate just how much they refuse to ever nerf anything. It is not like making a few numbers smaller by a few percent makes a job suddenly no longer fun to play. The mechanics are the same, the feeling of playing the job is the same. And it is also not about making a job weak. It is about bringing it in line with everything else. The majority of people wouldnt even notice the difference between a skill doing 120k damage or 115k damage if not directly told. Changing 20 jobs because 1 job is the issue is just extremely backwards thinking. There is a reason why older content is so incredibly steamroll nowadays. One issue is not strict enough ilvl capping, but the other is pure potency creep. Getting a HW duty in any roulette just makes me sad. Sad to see how once interesting and great feeling fights and dungeons are at a point where we dont even interact with mechanics at all anymore.
pklifeupa7064: I wont use cactbot, but ill keep using ACT however.
Night-fy4fm: When they mean all jobs they mean all melee let's be real
stellarstar6553: I think claiming that ultimate clear raids are too high is a vague statement.
UWU has an insanely high clear raid because it's been out for MANY years at this point and it's been optimized to the point where people do barely any thinking on it, merely doing their intended part in the raid. Likewise TEA has the same issue, where once you know where to stand, you will always know how to clear.

It's a little silly of them to say they can't look up to Legends anymore because many people are Legends now. I cleared UWU into TEA and I'm progging UCOB soon and this kind of mentality just frustrates me so much, because people downplay the achievement for legitimate players who don't use tools, especially in TEA where there ISN'T even an auto marker of sorts.

I honestly wish people quit that shit. It's so annoying to prog a fight and be proud of yourself only for backseaters to go "Yeah well I cleared it before the raid food was a higher ilvl, the current ultimates are a JOKE!". Let people have their feeling of accomplishment and stop stomping on it.

If Yoshi-P's statement on ultimates is that they're meant to be prestige, he should start thinking about designing ultimates that people can actually work towards - not ultimates that are puzzled out through guides and only difficult because your team is only as good as the worst possible griefer trolling your prog. All these "One guys doesnt know what to do so the whole team is immediately wiped" shit is what creates braindead ultimate prog where people just win through repetition and not through actual smarts.
kos-mos1127: They need to buff Summoner. Combat raise does not provide enough value on Summoner to justify having low damage.
Lemongh3: Perfect timing, needed something to watch while I eat
robbyv8729: If phys range was at the strength of PCT there would be no point in playing melee and it would be required for a lot of statics. There’s no way they’ll match potencies like that
kat_cobain: The reason for not having a Garlemald Restoration is....odd, when you consider the fact that the twins were aiding the Garleans just fine in post ew, unless I'm missing something here....
AgentNoun: The way you described your Mastery Point idea is very similar to what WoW did this expansion. They added "hero classes" that you would pick based on your current specialization that had 10 talents, and you got 10 talent points as you level to the new cap. So you could unlock the abilities in a different order, but by endgame everyone has the full tree.

Seems to have worked well there so hey, it could work!
Amooseable: Actually in my MINE static, we banned Picto from being played due to how overtuned it is, especially at level 60. Would just feel like it's trivializing the already easy damage checks even more
SilentOcalypz: Gonna have to hard disagree with you about the fanfest money. It is also a product that the company offers to the players. If it was at a net loss they wouldn't even bother doing it. Despite what it's named it's not actually a "Fan" fest in the sense that it's run by fans. Plus it employs a bunch of local people and if any profits go to making the game, or those other experiences better I'm all for that.
Kasuta_Ikite: All I need Yoshida to say to make me play more (Savage and Ultimate) is to go ham on cheaters. I cannot STAND the amount of ppl casually using cheat programs on PF. (No, Discord is NOT a fucking cheat program, grow tf up)
dracelcattdude: They need to do something with DRK.... it's suffering compared to the other tanks
Armydillo62o: Arthars made a similar point about the mastery points, and I like his idea on how it can be used for leveling.

Running through the story would give you enough points to unlock all the new skills for one job. Then you have total freedom to let any content in the game that you want give mastery points. Maybe grinding x amount of fates will let you get a point. Maybe completing x amount of hunts will give you one. You could add have Khloe’s weekly books give you one. That way you aren’t just watching a bar fill up with exp, but actually working towards a tangible reward that you can allocate as you wish. Kind of like how Hoyo games let you buff skills in whatever order you want as long as you have resources.
