overlordzetta7410: Alisaie Leveilleur is such a fiery emotional charcter and i got none of it dawntrail. she was half a sleep this msq.
LemonadeFlashlight: "And when the MSQ needed Ishikawa the most, she vanished."
doctorcis3510: The random aversion to killing in critical story scenes that isn't observed during general play was just weird. I don't know if it was supposed to be a reference to Saturday morning cartoons that had to do quick edits for the censors but it felt really out of place.
"No WoL, we are the good guys, good guys never kill people. Rubber bullets only."
"You do realize that I likely have a higher Garlean killcount than Bahamut, right?"
Hammer1987: The WoL simply should not have been present for that cutscene. Considering everything the WoL has been through and the enemies they have vanquished it makes no sense that they would simply passively spectate, or be unable to prevent, a freaking murder taking place in front of them.
And the filler quest in the fourth zone completely killed my enjoyment of the game.
"Oh do be careful, dear WoL, to not harm any of the murderers and robbers who just kidnapped someone."
or
"We're having a duel! Isn't that exiting? But don't worry, it's perfectly safe. We're using rubber bullets, after all. Wouldn't want anyone getting hurt, would we?"
Who wrote this and why didn't anyone stop them?
honkedoffjohn: There is nothing worse than the anime trope of "Let me 1v1 the bad guy, it's my responsibility/my honor."
Imagine if someone was trying to kill your friend and they yelled out, LET ME HANDLE HIM DONT INTERFERE and they fucking die even though we coulda helped. Fucking illogical.
cattysplat: WoL might as well be a contract bodyguard for Wuk Lamat this expansion. Helping anyone else is not in their paid contract.
hololiveforever9455: I’m hoping we get someone else to write the main story because whoever is doing it now is not doing a good job lol
yuina88: This writers should be benched forever
saltcastles: it's genuinely so bad, i can't believe this is the same game that i've loved for years. it's like they wrote it for fifth graders.
Shadowlar: I agree with Preach's sentiment that they tried to do too much in this MSQ. Nothing got the time it needed to breathe and there were a number of decisions made that look really dumb with the characters that are present.
Spoilers
hunteradams3269: It really feels like they took all of the focus on making the story meet expectations and put it into the difficulty of the new content especially the final boss and normal raids.
Also if it makes anyone else feel better i was also screaming at alisiaes line. I was screaming the ENTIRE cutscene like DO SOMETHING ANYTHING WHO GIVES AN F ABOUT HONOR HES GONNA DIE.
Chaoskoch: "We trust in the FFXIV writers" Yeah no, I don't. Hiroi, the lead writer for Dawntrail, is well known for his boring and stupid stories. Preach needs to stop coping. He lowered his standards so much that he even calls Wuk Lamat's english voice acting "fantastic", even though you can literally see him physically recoil during some of the especially bad line deliveries. FFXIV is a good game, and this MSQ was not good. There's no need to sugarcoat it, SE isn't a small indie company.
Highlandwhispers: Worst MSQ, ever. No we are not debating this, especially not with bad faith individuals who try and peddle the lie that it’s just a slow start when DT is an open-close story that barely leaves one future plot hook by the end, and not a particularly interesting or well built up one.
thehurricane6767: "We must understand them" even if they are the enemy "We must understand them".
Even if they are going to get deleted anyway "we must understand them".
Even if they were the reason our people died "we must understand them".
ventusvero4484: I have NO trust in these DT writers. They wrote bad dialogue for young children who might buy this garbage despite having IMMEDIATELY experience evidence to the contrary. SE Writers: "We don't have to show them trying anything, we'll just say we did, and because we said it, it will be so, despite evidence to the contrary". This occurs, CONSTANTLY, with attempts at egregiously manufactured sympathy/pity/concern/etc that is neither earned or makes sense given what immediately precedes or follows the bad dialogue. Remember that time Wuk Lamat attacked Bakool Ja Ja, was deflected, landed on her feet, and people immediately "thought you were dead!" Or that time Papa spoke 2 lines over 9 seconds and immediately transitioned into "But ive talked long enough!"
willowkaiser4036: Sorry no this stuff was trash hands down the ascians in whole ended up being better then this crap
