Your theory that they are building companions is every Reflection is actually great. How amazing would it be to be accompanied by Rin, Gaia, Zéro, Golby, Sphene and, let's get crazy, Unukalhai and Cylva?

At this point, I can wait to leave Tuliyollal behind, with Wuk, and go explore new reflections with our interdimensional buddies

THis is what makes a good character imo. Honestly this is why a lot of people dislike Wuk, she felt like she was just as good as the WoL and all the Scions which felt....off, and not deserved after all of our struggles.

I want Sphene to join our group. It feels just right. It would feel disappointing if she didn't.

1337penguinman: Something to think about with the Scions is that they're all effectively homeless, well, at least the main ones. Or at least nationless. The originals were either from Neo Sharlayan, or basically ran away from old Sharlayan. Minfillia was an orphan. G'Raha was a refugee who is now a man out of time. Estinien walked away from Ishgard after the end of the Dragonsong war. Even the WoL has no real connection to Eorzea prior to 2.0 (or 1.0 if you're an OG.) Sphene fits that role perfectly. Also, notice how they refer to her as just Sphene. Which means there's likely to be a future where alternate Sphenes aren't a thing and she's the one who's going to be left standing at the end of it all.

After 7.2 MSQ, you can talk to her and she mentions studying "Healing arts". Plus, she's got a pretty fairy-like aesthetic.

chelsthegameruiner8669: There's two characters I'd like to see become our companions (one is unlikely but i want to see them return).

Firstly, Zero. Apparently she wasn't a popular character but I thought she was cool. I think the issue with her popularity was the fact that she was tied to the story of Endwalker so it was made clear that she wouldn't vbecome a permanent member of the Scions (definitely hurt not seeing her in the DT teaser, as it effectively spoiled that she wasn't gonna be around for Dawntrail). I do think they said that Zero could return in a future storyline though, so there's still hope for me.

Secondly, Sphene. I don't doubt she'll potentially become a companion, especially with her wanting her people to move on from her, but I also feel like she'll become the queen once 7.4 (or 7.5) comes around.

Only character I don't want as a companion is Wuk Lamat. Not because I dislike her, but because it'd make sense for her to remain in Tural to lead her people alongside Koana. Obviously, she can join the Eorzean Alliance (if that even exists still) and appear as a representative whenever the alliance has a role to play in a story's events. With how controversial the character is currently, less of her after Dawntrail would be the best move going forward unless Wuk Lamat becomes more bearable throughout the remainder of the story.

Again, the last part isn't a hate thing for Wuk Lamat before people jump down my throat, I'm just looking at her place in the story after Dawntrail from a logical perspective now that she's the leader of a nation

Cragon: I was literally saying this during my first playthrough of the 7.2 story and saw the dialogue after with her talking about a grimoire. But yeah, she def gonna become an arcanist of some sort (cant do summoner or scholar as they are too closely lore tied to the source) however, during 7.0 they did make strong mention of how the Lalafell brought Archanima to the 9th and showed them fighting in the colleseum with it (not to mention the connections going back to the variant dungeon). Also, seeing as we in FF9 reference territory, how bout the archanima grimoire she gets is written by some old master lalafell named Eiko from Maiden Sari (or maybe even a Doctor Tot reference). I HOPE she becomes a new scion of some sort. I got it in my head that we shard travel with her to the 9th to go to Lindblum for some reason, but that more my cope for my love of FF9 xD

Yoshida is extremely scared with leaving the scions behind and everything screamed to me that they planned that at most for Wuk Lamat and they already write 8.0 I think.

Sphene will probably use the crown, get the memories of endless Sphene and rule together with Gulool Ja as reason and resolve in contrast to Endless Sphene and Zoraal Ja.

I really don’t hope that happens but especially with long lasting companions fans want the devs have a bad track record.

Let’s make noise and be loud so they hear us liking Sphene.

I take Sphene. It is really interesting how likable a character can be if they see actual work put into them.

cold_Lightning9: I always liked Sphene in the MSQ, and this patch really made me like her more honestly. I'm all for her becoming a new permanent member of the cast moving forward, and please, do not make it Wuk Lamat. She's a leader now, let her be one and stay in Tural.

Like look...it's time for new blood and new faces among the Scions and the main cast in general moving forward for the new saga, as you've said yourself. The current Scions have been mostly exhausted regarding their character arcs and unless they totally revamp them or shelve them, people will begin to grow tire of them. Heck, many people in the fandom already feel this way and it's been one of the main points of criticism regarding Dawntrail on how the characters were utilized.

It'd be real disappointing, and frankly a little too much of a missed opportunity to the point of being dumb, to not have Sphene join us. From her already confiding in the WoL emotionally several times, there's already a bond slowly being born there, and she can slowly find a new home and family among those by her side, since Alexandria needs to move on from her and accept death as a reality.

Even if not a member of the Scions directly, a traveling friend and comrade would be just as good imo.

The_Hearer_of_Ren: Love your videos man, and I agree. I really liked this Sphene, Wuk being there but more in the background instead to let Sphene and WoL develop and shine more, and overall I really liked the story this patch. I think the combat (other than the dungeon, it's about right) was a little too intensive - they need a medium difficulty of content, not to make story into medium and remove casual/story mode - but the story hit all the right spots with me, has lots to theorize over, and overall, was just fantastic. Can't wait for Crescent Island and for 7.3!

Sphene will def become a scholar/summoner as that is what Garnet is a white mage/ summoner. Now whether or not she will become a new crew member in the future i think its obvious yes.

I do think the scions need a break. Not sure its in Graha to leave our side, it would be a waste for Krile to just leave as well as she just became a pictomancer. The twins should get a break in my opinion, and Estinien walked off as soon as i started texting. Yshtola wants to focus on intershard travel which to me a humongous task. So her being sidelined heavily makes sense. Only appearing to open more shards kinda bad though unless each time she opens a pathway to a new shard she drops lore bombs and do something with us and heads back to the source? Idk. Thancred not sure what he is up to nor Urianger.

ShadowW-w1x: As much as I wish it wouldn't happen, but I think Ys'tola is going to find her way into Ra'tika Greatwoods and Sphene is going to replace her role in the future. I mean it's just crazy that after Shadowbringers, she still looks for a way in the Rifts until now.

LivingLightningXL: 7.0 I loved Sphene and was devastated when I thought she was gone forever until 7.1 ending. With 7.2, I think of her as a little sister for my WoL as they looked amazing together :3 I would love to see her joining us in 8.0. As for Wuk, I didn't mind her, but she needs to stay in Tural given she's the ruler etc.

The never closed the loop with his mother. She was a technician that dealt with soulcraft. When she told Zoraal Ja that he was his son, his first word was "how?". We don't know for sure what soul is in his body. I can't help but recall Eiko in FF9. They kidnapped her to rip the magic out of her. Then her moogle turned into a rage monster and protected her. He doesn't have a moogle. While I doubt they would kill a kid, it may well leave him in a state where he can't continue and I don't see him remaining in a leading role. They may go with a non monarchy local government. Or, Sphene could put the crown on and stay but I hope not.
