rebellyanmagic6409: ".....Well, at least I can get a snack."

maritzavargas2751: I've seen our Tank solo a boss while our party had all died and it was AMAZING to watch.

TheReconSpecialist: Funnily enough it was this exact dungeon, and I was GNB. Final Boss, Healer misjudged the AOEs and tried to shield but got obliterated. MCH soon fell despite me trying to keep him and the MNK alive. MNK managed to LB before dying to a raid wide, leaving me against the Boss on 15% health.

They didn't ask me to wipe, instead it was encouragement, as I kept dodging mechanics, invulned the stack, used my mits and heals accordingly, all the while constantly remaining on the assault with the MNK chiming in quotes from the Matrix; 'He's beginning to believe..' and such comments.

Once the Boss died, the Healer even admitted they didn't mind dying just to watch that, and I came out with all the comms. I rarely ever get a 'main character' high moment, last time I did was back in Stormblood, but man, do I love that feeling.

ZionFury: Guilty!

michaelmoore2679: Back before Endwalker, I got to witness something amazing. It was my first run of Ruby Weapon, so I knew absolutely none of the mechanics. Most of the party wiped, except for the two tanks, both Paladins. They made a good go of it until one of them misjudged an aoe and fell. So all we had was one Paladin up against the Ruby Weapon. And they just refused to die. It took close to an hour, but we sat and watched and cheered as our lone Pally whittled the boss down, dodging every possible mechanic and managing cooldowns and heals expertly.

Eventually, the boss entered its enrage. And despite their performance so far the Paladin just didn’t have the DPS to overcome it.

Needless to say we were pumped and ready to go for the next round. We successfully made it to the second phase, where we promptly wiped again due to not having a masterclass lesson on the mechanics. But we won on the next go!

It was the one duty where I learned the most about how to play better and made me want to tank more.

GoodEggs: I (pld & war) don't usually do this bc it feels kinda rude, but if the party encourages me (OR alternately is really rude) or if there's 1/4 or less health I'll ABSOLUTELY do it

zelos1826: Watching a tank solo a boss is cool but actually doing it yourself is SO invigorating even if you lose lol

TheMouseRanReverse: I remember I was learning my first tank class, Warrior, and I got an alexander raid for my normal raid alliance. It was the one with the big machine where you attack its legs and if the healers are too close during the one mech, they will wipe. At some point I noticed chat and then it dawned on me I was the only one alive.

codytracht3663: Yeah it depends for me. If the health is low I'll go for it or if I'm running with friends. If we've wiped a few times I'll ask the group if they want me to just do it or reset.

KnucklesGum: What's even better is the healer dying early on, and then keeping both your DPS alive. The dream

GameNerd91: I get it that it makes people upset for time being wasted but hey, should have thought of that before getting killed by an old boss

Screams in happy violence as Warrior while running to boss

blitzen1219: Had this one group on Origenics that just Could Not get the mechs for Boss #1. I was pre-running, moving before the boss finished its animations, but they just kept getting cooked. We went over it a couple times but after the 5th walk of shame taking longer than their uptime in the fight, I just took care of it as the PLD. I felt a little bad about it, but I also wasn't sure how else to help. To their credit, they were really nice in general and I think they took the time to look up the rest of the dungeon's mechanics, since we got through perfectly after that

Voice_9_Heart85: Recently in one dungeon we all 3 get wiped leaving the gunbreaker alone fending for himself. And he really kill it.

shiroreos: So far I had a blast whenever I get the chance to solo a boss as a Paladin. Was lucky enough to always encounter other players who encouraged me to keep going and they were all so hyped and cheered me on!

blubunny2217: A literal high.

I reset if its super big health but i cant lie....the feeling....its an addiction

raffay_sensei: One time i soloed the last 1-1.5% of a savage boss when everyone had died, felt so good (i was a gnb)

Saralightff: Watching someone solo a boss is the best feeling ever. Especially when they win.

sircarter2428: I got yelled at by a healer because they all died at half health. So i decided to solo it and he said "its considered rude to solo" then left us.

spacedrake8364: I generally.... don't mind because when it happens a boss is already on low health.

But once when I DID mind, a Warrior did this on my first run-in on the last Shadowbringers dungeon boss. I got a little annoyed because it was my first time going through the MSQ and I wanted to learn the mechanics and experience the fight... the boss had more than half health left so we were there for a good 5-6 minutes lol. They ultimately failed too.

thepsychicgaymer9888: You see this a lot in I feel Shadowbringers content. Tanks got some great abilities and Paladin/Warrior just became psuedo Healers and DPS. I've only ever been the "tank that didn't die" once as a White mage but watching people just be experts at their classes is incredible.

alexsilverstar629: Lunar subteranne last boss, healer and other dps were dead at 70%, I died at around 45%, Paladin actually healed me occasionally on the side until I messed up and then solod the rest. What a legend

FrancesAllen-o5q: Happened today….DK only one left. We respawned & cheered him on from outside the barrier. It was awesome

AltruistiCynic: It’s all fun and games until you’re fighting Golbez and all of your party except one tank dies and that tank is not

mareczek00713: Yeah - warrior might be the king of big pulls but if you want to fight the boss then Paladin is your guy, assuming you went through Heavensward paladin missions.

fakade2987: I enjoy cheering the tank on and taking a snack break.

tinaspice: Tank solo bossing is the best game high.

SarkenHS: I'll honestly consider keep fighting depending on the mood and how close the boss is about to die. Usually if it's still above 50% I don't bother. Happened a very few times where i could finish a boss as a tank in mmorpg. (in more than 15 years tbf, so it's extreeeeemly rare)
