BladRavenYey: i think comparing dawntrail's story to shb or ew is being unfair with it and not giving it a chance before its even come out. its the start of the new arc, its not going to suddenly reach those cumulative narrative highs in the span of one expansion (although obviously the dawntrail story itself is going to have a beginning and end). its going to take a few to expect shb and ew levels of culmination. lets let them breathe and see what they lay out for us and progressively build upon in the coming years.
truthless4720: What's funny to me is these journalists are somehow completely oblivious to the fact that FFXIV has been using this "stagnating formula" to grow the game for over 10 years, long before COVID and the WoW refugee crisis happened. It's like the 6 years of growth prior to Shadowbringers didn't exist. Granted, ShB was an extra boost of growth, but it was doing just fine before that too.
loneblade201: What I learned from this: Zepla has NSFW artwork of her character somewhere.
robertdelacruz3032: What you mean it's dawntrail is ff14 last chance. From what I been hearing from the casual audiences end walker is actually perform really really good it's just sidequest activities I do agree need some improvements I'm not in smoking mirrors Here but yea it's actually is a well performed expansion.
o.d.d.s: island sanctuary's main problem was how you couldn't gather on your friends island. really doing anything with your friends in the sanctuary would have been a godsend.
BestoFriendoCassidy: Last Chance for what??!!?!
Volfur2251: is the story going to be amazing, honestly its debatable since trying to start a new arc in anything is always gonna have its rough patches. there is no way around it so if people expect the story to be up there with endwalker or shadowbringers then i think people expect to much
ezequielalves879: I believe that many people relate cataclysmic, apocalyptic and prophetic events as the only possible elements for a good fantasy story. This is not only to underestimate what storytelling really is, but to limit the elements that make up a good story. Excellent fantasy fiction books released over the years are there to prove that fighting gods, preventing the end of the universe, descending into hell and facing demons or world-eaters isn't the only way to tell a good fantasy story, in fact, sometimes it's even the most predictable way. Good examples of fantastic narratives that don't necessarily flirt with this type of story are books like "The Name of the Wind" and "The Gentleman Bastard Series". Final Fantasy has always been a very good franchise at telling us good stories. To expect that, in order to be successful, an expansion needs to have a story along the lines of ShB and EW is both to see fantasy fiction in a limited way and to underestimate the ability of the minds behind FFXIV's creative process.
Hayami4: "last chance" talks are always funny to me, games always change and that means some people will take it well and some won't. The people who won't maybe will leave, but that doesn't mean the game will die or fail, there will be always new audience they can reach, that's just the natural cycle of things.
akirablackheart6811: this guy does only rage bait videos and says nothing in his videos-
robertdelacruz3032: It's just that dawntrail will be a better BETTER expansion patch cycle due to improved mmo content.
