ricebrown1: Water polo is totally upper class. Do you know how expensive it is to teach a horse to swim?
shane0616: I don't think anyone expects you to be "good" at ffxiv, they just want you to play through the main story. Which at this point, you can just queue up as a dps and let the npc bots carry you through. But I don't think the ffxiv community realizes they are now asking people to play through 6 RPGs worth of story. That's litterally asking someone to make ffxiv their main game for 6 months and that's only for the main story, not any of the side content, at a casual pace.
themayorofserioustown9122: My guy knew FOR A FACT that a thumbnail of a big "no" sign on Y'shtola would get some rage clicks
xerravolos: He's got a fair point, can't fault him when time is such a precious resource.
Wait.. how long did he spend in Morrowind again?
Scrambles_Deathdealer: The fact that Josh thinks he needs to be good at Final Fantasy XIV tells you how little he has actually played Final Fantasy XIV
duskborn_: fair, I love FFXIV but it's a huge time commitment for a game that demands a lot of investment from the player
Afrecta: Being good at XIV means having your monitor on and knowing how to read.
Mishakur: Especially with FFXIV, it's not important to be good at it. You can just enjoy and play the story, then leave to return whenever and continue. It's pretty chill
moosecat00: God imagine if practice made people good at FFXIV, what a paradise that would be.
fightingblind: I took an entire week just on Dawntrail MSQ. I know some people were done second day, but I'm too dyslexic.
user-yk2jm3mp7l: As a near okay FF 14 reader I can assure you we don't even expect our teammates to be good at raids let alone story
Funartic: MMORPGs are designed to be the only game you need to play, they are massive time sinks. Anyone who likes to try new things and play different games is never gonna go too far in any of them, and that's fine.
thenerdbeast7375: The irony of being into and covering so many MMOs is you don't have the time or interest to really get invested into MMOs.
TheRealmOfTF: Well, I mean, can you really fault him? Newsflash, but the FF14 story is really, really long. Like, incredibly so. 60 hour base game story plus 5 expansions, all of which will take you anywhere from 20 to 40 hours to complete... That's several hundred hours right there, NOT COUNTING the post-patches that separate each expansion from the other.
Scrambles_Deathdealer: I just tried to imagine the aneurysms all of the MSQ Andys would have watching Josh play through the story, and get lost in the 40-minute tangents, and realize I need to see Josh stream the Final Fantasy XIV story if for no other reason.
123hattan: To stream the FF14 story is basically just watching together a movie.
