Full YoshiP Interview w French Media FFXIV Dawntrail

shirox11: The reason endgame cities still eventually lose to places like limsa is not everybody is endgame, so people like to go somewhere EVERYONE can hang out.

Raika63: They really should put an inn and market board in both expansion cities.

Soul0890: One thing ive always wanted was a mount/emote/hairstyle preview at the MB. I have no clue what half the hairstyles and mounts are lol. There should be a in-game preview at the MB so we don't need to google it.

zordiark9673: One the few changes that 7.0 made and i missed entirely before: When you create a New Character and choose a Class.. it now tells you which Class is a Tank, Healer or DPS. Thats far better than just telling you "Uses Magic. Uses Weapon."

TiredMages: Man it would be so neat to get remixed savage versions of all the Alliance Raids. Tower at Paradigm's Breach (Savage) would be hilarious.

Matthew-he6id: Levels and jobs are in a weird spot. You get to level 100 in Dawntrail, for example, but 90% of the content you'll do will be played without the skills and things that you unlocked along the way. Because you are synced down to the appropriate level of the activity, a lot of game time is spent without all the skills and cool new things that you unlock in later parts of the game. This isn't a new issue, but the other problem is that they dont make any of the older content relevant to newer released jobs. 4 jobs currently have no reason to do older ultimates, and 6-8 jobs have no reason to do older relic grinds. Not even going to bother with the older savages and extremes.

I just dont understand this idea of releasing new jobs and not giving them a reason to play a large amount of the game because their job kit at lower levels suck compared to others, and their's almost no gear made available to them thats worth grinding for at the very least for cosmetic reasons.

TajinQ: If you want new expansion cities to be more crowded than Limsa, you'll have to put a market board right next to the aetheryte. There's no way around it

sakuram69: FFXI definitely, definitely has a serious RMT issue that’s noticeable. Everything requires gil. It’s literally the only way to accomplish some things within a reasonable time frame. In 14, on the other hand, I almost only ever use gil for teleports lol I am perpetually broke as hell, only occasionally breaking 500k, but it just isn’t needed that much. I’d like to make enough to buy a house or something, but it doesn’t affect my overall enjoyment. I think that is a massive win for the game. I am really enjoying DT thus far and all I’ve done is level my primary jobs.

Workplaylister: Someone needs to ask Yoshi about making MSQ roulette cutscenes skippable if no new player is present

CrimlyKoo: All I know is that I never felt like I wanted to be able to ride my mount more than when I got to Solution Nine. I realize most of what you need is at the arcade, but running from aetheryte to aetheryte in the rest of the city feels bad. Plus there's all these parking lots and garages with parked bikes and vehicles that taunt me.

BolinJackson: Honestly that Gil comment is insane to me. Crafted gear, and overmelds at the start of every savage tier. Expect serious raiders to spend millions on crafted gear every tier.

GodOfWar187: I'm all for a higher difficulty version of Alliance Raids, but I think they need to be closer to Extreme difficulty instead of Savage.

ofcatarina: honestly I was really happy with the dungeons in this xpac, still have some weird walls... but the boss mechanics were pretty engaging this time around

tciddados: The only issue/worry I have about the distinction between expert and "normal" dungeons is that after the initial optional ones, expert roulette just consists of MSQ dungeons now. Either expert will only be expert for the first few patches of expansions now (while it contains the optional dungeons), or patch MSQ dungeons will also be "expert" and then that kind of kills the distinction between the two (because those are mandatory to MSQ progression anyway).

TheRetifox: Yoshi doesn't want Gil to be high-value, so there is not much gold sink here. Which creates the issue of people having too much gil, and buying out houses. Yoshi doesn't want to create meaningful rewards for Deep, or expert dungeons. 4 people are working on jobs, so classes are going to remain the samey. No job variety, no dungeon variety, no economy. What's the point of looking forward to the content, and playing the game then?
