PSI_Nightshade: The only detail that might be missed or confusing for some is that any moments about you beingi n 1.0 only applies to characters who were in fact in 1.0. If you're brand new in 2.0, you're just a fresh greenhorn adventurer and a bunch of these little extra details are lost.

SuperMoRangeT: Mid Shadowbringers, my friends pushed really hard to get me to play, with the eventual goal to have me join the casual raid group. One friend even preemptively buying a level and story boost for me. I had made it to about level 20, and was losing interest in the very slow openings of ARR story, and was about to use the boost/skip to get to Shadowbringers, but another friend in the group said that while skipping ARR was fine, it was a mistake to skip Heavensward. So I took the boost, but started New Game Plus from the start of Heavensward. Boy was he right. Heavensward is an amazing narrative and what ultimately hooked me on FF14. I would not still be playing if I didn't skip ARR. But that has come with the downside of barely understanding ARR. I had a basic understanding of who people were, and the major events that took place, but everything from ARR was very hit or miss.

All this to say, THANK YOU JESSE! By far, this is the best summary of ARR and patch content ARR. The bits and pieces of ARR that I picked up from friends poorly done explanations, and inferring from later story flashbacks finally manage to fit into the big picture puzzle.

kitsunehanyou09: An hour of listening to Uncle Jesse/Mr. Cox recount the story of ARR in his own way is pretty nice, like a comfy nostalgia trip!
