thebigidea9659: Really wish ff 11 got this instead.
JamesTheTurnbull: Imagine beating an ultimate on your phone
griggins: Crazy times we're living in. I'm almost never excited for a mobile announcement, and this is no different.
Trujones: I still would like FF11 to be on mobile
ArchieGamez: Limsa about to explode my phone LETS GOOOO
Also did i see Stardiver in ARR!??
beambreaker300: To clarify:
- Mobile is its own game, not crossplay with the main version of the game
- Target demographic is mainly asia and players without PC/Console
- It is outsourced to a different company (Lightspeed) who is developing Mobile, so no barring on the main version of the game
- So far it seems to release with ARR only, but it appears to feature new voice acting for it as well as abilities from further into the expansions
- Judging from the trailer it was made new from the ground up, so it won't have the same baggage from the engine of the main version of the game
RockR277: I don't really get the point, but that probly just means I'm not the target demo. I am interested in how all of it's gonna work out though.
NekkoBlue: A Realm Reborn …Reborn lol
Zoner1501: I wish it was FFXI mobile
BigKrisco: I can GUARANTEE the skill rotations will work like PvP
Quix32: Who asked for this?
Tenebro-bj5iu: A lot current FFXIV players are looking at this with a lot of judgement, but realistically, those people have already been "suckered in"
I think this mobile version is meant to pull in a new audience rather than recycle the people who are already on board
Rangrok1k: To be fair, most modern phones are more powerful than the PS3 that the game used to run on...
lobbyboya: I can't believe they chopped down the FFXI mobile remake to make this one
Envinyon: Mobile MMOs are really popular throughout Asia. Chinese developer making it, its launching in China first. This is clearly something for that market even if it will have a global launch. Mildly curious what it'll look like, but I'll stick with what I got.
RPGOmen: FFXI mobile died for this.
I'd rather have XI mobile.
-UwU-catgirl-: This explains a lot…
pegeta: Your phone is not ready!
Jaybee82: Could function as a 'gateway drug' to play the full experience.
damnsahn: Yay! We are one step closer to getting FFXIV on Nintendo!
Moneyman49442: they shoulda did 11 instead of 14 for mobile
WhiplashSL: Do you guys not have phones?
KevinSatron: Itsuno working in lightspeed JAPAN studio, not the original lightspeed studio in china (tencent)
druick2287: and here I am still waiting for FFXI
guffels: IIRC, You brought it up during an interview reading from China fanfest and immediately said that the game wouldn't be coming out outside of china.
Frogstoney: Not gonna say it, not gonna say it
wilddragonchase: hurts knowing FF14 got mobile before FF11.
but still hoping this does well. i think they're just gonna build it up cleaner.. like you just start with jobs instead of classes.. and skills will probably be a condensed like PVP is
NotTheWheel: It'll be interesting to see what a Pocket ARR will be like.
mengdong1909: I want to be optimistic, but just the fact that it has anything to do with tencent just doesn't give me any reason to be optimistic
DacianGradaMusic: Most western audience will scoff at this, but we're definitely not the target demographic for it. The concept of "mobile MMO" is quite popular in Asian countries and it will definitely help with the game's exposure overall, many might even just try it on the phone and want to see what's the actual PC title like! It's only a good thing tbh and if they manage to capture the core aspects of the game for a wider audience, why not?
But hold on a minute, Fell Cleave in my Titan trial? Hey now...
KazyEXE: I wish something would've done with XI mobile.
paulsmith950: If the mobile game ends up getting all the features we want in the PC game and we don't it will become a real table flip moment. Houses. Glamour catalogue. Content.
kampfh7150: Hey, as long as it has no bearing on the actual videogame, I say China can have what they want to have. Mobile Gaming is huge in China and Korea anyway, so why not
Brawneteer: 1. Can't play with my existing account and characters.
2. Tencent is involved.
Verdict: Nah.
