MMDTrxsh: The closest Gong Cha to me is in the next state over, and by that point, the cost of getting there and back from gas alone would probably outweigh the cost of getting my silly little digital pig mount.
MMDTrxsh: These food collabs are a really fun idea that they've been doing, but they need to be more widely available. At that point, it's just asking for RMT. People who have easier access to these promotions would totally sell their accounts off at double or triple of what they spent solely because they have more lucrative in-game items.
Do a collab with something like McDonald's worldwide! Arby's is especially fond of video gaming culture— (Final Fantasy in particular!) on their social medias, they'd totally do a collab.
providencebreaker1558: A lot of effort for a dinky little crown.
furyanwolf: This collab is awful, I swear it feels like Square Enix HATES Europe. They always forget us and the one time they don't it's a store nobody has ever heard of or has around them. RIP. What a scam.
J3dotgg: Gong Cha is not a small business by any means btw, they are a very large chain from Taiwan with a pretty sizeable presence in Asian countries (especially southeast asian countries). I think them having some offshoot branches in the west was a happy coincidence. I think promoting this as a global event was a bit disingenuous on square's part though.
Edit: I was wrong about the brand being from Korea
TheGameKat: These kinds of promotions seem guaranteed to irritate far more players than they please. SQEX knows their business model, but these cash grabs don't do them any PR favors IMO.
kazwyrm: Im actually happy with this event. as an australian, gongcha is somewhat common to get to here and out of all the events, we ATLEAST get SOMETHING. we have kfc's and pizza huts here but those colabs didnt show up here. also we dont get any merch unless its through 3rd party means. so those who are missing out, im sorry but its just how anyone outside the 3 major regions feel when you get a regional event and get cool stuff
25xxfrostxx: There isn't one of these stores within 1500 miles of my home. I would have just bought this on the mog station since I can''t do the deal. Their mount cross promotions are kind of stupid though. The Mountain Dew mounts are ""sold out" now and impossible to get.
randomkoreanguy: I'm glad this is just a minor reskin because getting to a Gong Cha is an ordeal. But thanks, Meoni, for helping all of us make this decision.
josephpiscitelli8053: I’m sorry for everyone I got a gong cha like 5 min from me
RendMaim: closest one to me is Columbus Georgia dude aint no way lol
BloodDragoon: Why can't i just get one drink? Carrying 3 drinks around is gonna be annoying.
ZirusAlpha: "support small business"
goncha a huge chain of boba all around the world
lol, lmao even
RoundSeal: I always have to disregard these promotions with no small amount of frustration and resignation when they happen. I live in EU, but not one of the 'major' countries where these promotions sometimes
Hammybread: Imagine buying copious amount of insert company here
keltian: I'll admit I hadn't thought about the challenge of finding one of these stores nearby. Here in New York City, bubble tea is huge, and there are many different bubble tea franchises with locations around the city, including Gong Cha which has a location a short walk from my apartment. One thing I will say though is that although I am a fan of bubble tea, I don't like the idea of buying three at once because that's a lot for one person and I don't like wasting food but I'm not sure what to do with the extra drinks.
