rabidsmiles: The ruffled skirt is the worst offender. The most obvious choice should have been the leggings a different color but nooooo...its a tiny band on the belt part. Was so disappointed.
babybbunnyisaac9886: As someone who uses penumbra, this really opened my eyes to how many problems there are with the dye system and glamour as a whole. I sometimes forget that I can't dye certain things or wear certain items that are not for my class/job in reality because I can wear almost everything through penumbra.
solidshadow01: It seems to me, no quality control was done. An interface was built, and a numerical value was changed or linked and then nobody was assigned to go through each piece of gear to make sure it was acceptable. A college student on practicum or vacation could have been hired to do that.
BriahnAznable: The dye reality did let me down but if they finish the sweep in “reasonable” time I’ll end up happy overall. Hire intern-kun to do a sweep so we don’t have the second dye channel being a button
I guess it would be a waste of money in real life but I always wished they’d just have a small team constantly releasing glams/furniture.
Adding old hats to Hroth/Viera, updating the old 4 pixel textures, putting in a toggle that adds belts to the old equipment that used to show them… it’d go a long way for me to have them trickle in the fixes/updates every other week or when it’s done rather than plopping them all out in a big update down the line.
Smaller frequent content patches that don’t involve story or battle would go a long way in keeping the world alive and ever changing, even if it’s in tiny ways
GlitterMagician: I wish they had gone with the way Guild Wars 2 has their dye system. You have to only buy dyes once and they go into a dye bank and you can use them as many times as you want. Then each item of gear has at least 4 dye slots. You can even dye your mounts different colors so that even if you have the same mounts as others, you can have different color palettes. I have so many questions on why for ff14 they often selected the smallest thing to make the second dye channel.
Sun-yi4dk: I wish you could change the eyebrow/tail colour without having the same colour as the hair
Kurainuz: One of the things i was disapointed more this expansion was that the vanguard weapons of the cyberpunk dungeon HAS NO DYE SLOT. They would be perfect with a dye for the metal and another for the light
shionkreth7536: It was a lot more half-assed and bolted-on than I was expecting.
Xaiken: I was so excited for double dyes on launch. As soon as I logged in, I went to check the Far Eastern Schoolgirl Hair Ribbon and was met with immediate confusion when the second dye channel changed nothing. Only on closer inspection did i realize it was just a couple tiny squares... When the double dyes work they are fantastic, but they really 1/10 assed a lot of the pieces...
HonestPhil: a little off topic but i would love if you could address the state that hrothgar and viera are still in. lack of hair options and of course the headpiece situation. currently female hrothgar has a lot of issues with their shoulder adjustments. gear just looks silly on them. since we are already on the topic of criticism.
personally i think enough time has passed and it cant really be excused anymore, especially since head gear doesnt even work with new pieces that come out. not even the job gear. (sometimes some pieces randomly work and it clips but then its okay all of a sudden. its just a mess).
titaniumvulpes: I understand why old pieces like the Adventuring Sweater dye like that, because obviously those were around before dual-dying so they had to keep the original dye channel intact otherwise it would completely break everyone's existing glamours. (Used a jet black dye to change the whole top but now the shawl is a different dye channel? Have fun dropping half a million gil to re-dye it!) That said, I think they should put out new versions of some of those old glamours that make more sensible use of the dual-dye system. Also the level 60 SMN gear's dye channels are an absolute horror show, whoever OK'd that should be thoroughly demoted.
Yokai_Yuri: Many features in FF14 are just absolute bare minimum improvements from what we already have. I was hyped about the double dye system just to be let down immediately by it. My armors don't even have the option to double dye
subject_9875: You're absolutely right. I was prettty disappointed with the update as well. Other issues include metallic red being some weird shade of purple, and that very often white/silver/steel colors on a default armor piece cannot be matched by the ones in our dye system.
SleepyNoodle140: Some of the choices they have made for secondary dye channels are baffling..
crimsonpotemkin: I've been wondering since the launch of Dawntrail...did FFXIV get a lower budget after Endwalker?
It feels like the game is understaffed and underfunded.
Knowing Square Enix I wouldn't put it past them to only see the game as a cash cow, lowering the budget to fake higher profits.
cindersun: I had a disappointing double dye recently, I bought the educand's skirt and saw the double dye and (reasonably) assumed the skirt and socks would dye separately
