After 100 Hours In FFXIV, I Watched The Heavensward Trailer

Rushifell: On the note of music, its important to the entire game. Not only is Answers the most important song in the game, but your ability to understand Dragonsong also changes through the course of the expansion. Songs in this game take on new meaning as your perspective at certain points in the story change. The music is also used very effectively to enhance and at times literally tell the story, so while turning it off in a city or housing area might be a good call after a while, you really want it on when running the story. Never underestimate the value or the specific choices of music used in FFXIV, you'll be missing out.

ayafeliciano4165: i get teary eyed every time i see cinematics or hear the dramatic ffxiv music, even if its not sad, because it reminds me of everything we've been through and all the emotions felt at the end. it hits every time

edboy5418: At this point of his journey, the Dad of Coffee be brought so low due to treachery, the only way forward is heavensward.

teadodo4017: Context does matter a lot in this game! A lot of music, lyrics or scenes or trailers get new layers of meaning even within one expansion beginning vs end, not to mention from expansion to expansion. And in my experience sometimes the context is SO important that the piece loses a large part of its emotional value without it. It may explain why ppl who skip the story struggle to reconnect with it later but also why this community has such a large base of people watching others experience the story for the first time. Not only you get to see the reactions, but also look at the events with your new understanding of context. Also you have really great insights on the game and its aspects, been really enjoying following your experience, glad you like it here!

DayleDiamond: With an audience cheering him on, he came.

opalmyst: It's always best to remember that SE makes it's trailers for it's gamers who are playing the game & get them excited for what's coming next. ARR's trailer is tough because we can't play 1.0 any more but it does help a lot knowing how SE literally had the 1.0 players playing the calamity that we're seeing in the ARR trailer. Knowing that they, with no warning, were watching the red moon get larger, were running from sudden monster raids in the cities, & the MSQ was bringing the Garlic Bread Empire down on them...

thewitchiebunny: The trailers only get better and the music *only gets better*. Welcome to the party, friend.

aliciafraser1835: I've always viewed ff14 trailers as not something there to pull in new players but rather something to hype up current/old players while potentially tickling the interest of general FF fans and the curious alike. Something closer to an anime/tv shows different season intros and further away from something like a movie trailer.

livingreverie5951: So to clarify about Meteor

That isn’t his Actual name, more or less a fan name given that he’s, by definition, a Meteor Survivor via Answers

clumsyturtle8544: The last part of the trailer never fails to get me pumped even after all these years.

ketsuekikumori9145: I still go back and watch all the trailers. And even now they still hype me up.
