pondafarr: The vendor bug was real years ago, which is why people sell Perfectly Preserved Pie at 31415 caps, or a "You've Been Insulted" note for 40k, but that was supposedly patched years ago. Allegedly, that one allowed you into a player's stash if you were able to buy everything from their vendor, hence the current custom of always having something

Turkeysammich3000: People need to realize, these glitches existed, and were just “covered up” in the patches. They still exist. Another thing, there’s only a small team working on the game, events and upcoming seasons are already built and are working off of a script, most of it is automated. The people working on the game now, are the same as GMs, they have some power and capabilities, but arent devs. They can only block, not remove bugs/exploits completely.

Saying that, the bugs of the past are still present, just “blocked” or “covered up” they are still in the game, just not reachable, it only takes a single patch to accidentally unblock past bugs.

There used to be one where players could take items directly out of someone else’s inventory. Then one where others could take your camp displayed items

when you go to someone’s camp, you have access to their inventory not yours through the stash box at their camp.

Also, when the vendors first came out, you were able to set prices for someone else’s items.

until this day I don’t use a vendor at my base. only hand to hand transactions.

Another one was you could join a random person team and was able to build in their camp and add items like defense items and decorations for them and they couldn’t delete them or they would have to ask you to rebuild them for them, but when you put down the stash box automatic gave you access to their inventory. and access to their vendor as if they were yours.

ZOMBIESrEMO_Official: Oh this glitch was an actual thing, but it was also an actual hack on pc which allowed you to look at player inventory and take what they have on them.

Also stash is at max so yup .from what i know as long as your vendor is not connected to power it helps to . just a heads up . Also put weapon skins on your items since it makes them un trade able. just some tips if anyone is wondering about losing stuff. That’s what i have done since this bug hit on the pc a few years ago .

mattiassvensson7287: What I've seen some people try to do at times is to buy 1 item at a time for 1 cap, so if you have 1000pcs 5.56 ammo for example they start buying 1 ammo at a time for 1 cap to try to trigger this error.

But... I'm not sure if the bug is still there.. I saw a couple of users trying to do this last week on Xbox though.

However, I can recommend that you should have one item at 40k cap in each category in you vendor should make this glitch non-existant. :)

TOMWROTEN: I know this exists as well as a new ammo bug as well where I have my loot screen open and I see my loot and my ammo disappears while I am looking at the loot screen has epic weapons' do the same. Also another tip if you have fallout 1st go to your private world to do your price changes. I also never have items that are to low priced

TarreY13: Yes it is real it's best to have several things in your vendor or at least Max caps it helps I've experienced it I've seen things appear in my vending machine that was not supposed to be there stuff that I was not selling always set a few items to Max caps don't let this happen to you

Rodger_Phillips: Yes, this is/was real years ago, the fix back then was to keep the Stash Boxes well away from the Vendor, easy to do puting the Vendor in its own camp and the Stash boxes in a separate camp, that way only one is on the server at time,

since I did that never had problem at all. of course you need more than one camp, and new players generally don't have more than one for a while, alternatively put the Vendor in the camp and the Stash boxes in your Shelter, since the shelter is a load screen location of its own, it seems to keep the Stash safe enough.

XxPolloV1412xX: When I was warned about this glitch, I was also told to put Bobby pins at max caps, & also never to have your vendor set up near your stash box.. not sure how true but I just keep my stash box 3 floors away minimum..
