Floating Camps Banned, Bethesda Responds Fallout 76

momokat1824: What should be banned is not putting the vendor in an obvious spot

qball21206: Permanent bans for that are crazy. Just delete the base if anything

Katsuhi50: its a clown move for them to ban people over camps in the first place, if a build is made with malicious intent like a trap camp or something just disqualify it from best builds nobody should be getting banned over this especially when builders are bethesda's biggest atom store customers.

khitteh: Pretty crappy thing to do to report that guy for his awesome camp.

Metalgod1984: I just hate the fact when fast traveling, you drop from the sky and die

xAfredKnotx: Yet trap camps are allowed.

Loot_Master99: Banned over camps is wild

shadowx7x: I wonder how they feel about under ground camps? the ones that are glitched outside the map

scottwaggoner223: I don’t know why people are differentiating this from a trap camp. They both result in death if the guest is unprepared. While I don’t think the account should have been outright banned, it is in Bethesda’s best interest to ensure new players have a quality experience and a CAMP in the sky is not a good experience for a new player. Personally I always have power armor or a jet pack, so it isn’t an issue for me and I’ll travel back up once the CAMP properly loads, but new players won’t have that option.

jeeptangler0043: 99.9% of best build camps are basic, and low creativity . They look like camps from the first year of the game

makimera: Person had been reported before, makes you wonder what they did before. Feels like there is more to the story. I alllways stay very cautius to stuff like this, becouse it's like tiktok videos filming cops etc, only giving you 20% of the full story.

BigupGum: Either fix your game bethesda so they cant build in the air. Or just let them play the game

solidicone: Long story short, probably via some automated reporting method some people with glitch based camps got permabanned. The bans were then lifted after someone from bethesda actually went and looked.

The best builds system is the root cause of it, willing to bet anything if something gets X amount of reports it just autobans.

Just don't use the best builds system.

The_enclave15: I've only seen one of builds 2 times and i think it was and still is on of the coolest builds I've seen in game

And btw love your content hope i see you in the wasteland

MarkBluett: What a joke, bans floating camps (why?) yet Bugthesta doesn't fix ongoing bugs the have been prevelant in the game for years

Schizz_Popinov: I'm glad Bethesda did this. Floating camps are garbage and unrealistic. Took me 10 minutes to enter one that had a ton of plans. It was difficult to get to iing Watoga tower. Others, you just fall to your death. Overall, it is bad, and I'm glad they are doing something about it. I may not like them, but I would never report someone over it.

NailsAndWinter: I think people may be reporting them because they think it's causing server issues or just out of jealousy who knows.

itsmehere1: This is really an issue due to best builds since it gives people a much easier avenue to spam report builds that are, by Bethesda's own words, not breaking the rules and probably auto bans after so many or a certain volume of reports, though a perma ban for a camp build is crazy.

It should just have the camp reset and if a certain person has had thier camps reset a certain number of times then can be banned but I still dont think it should be a perma right away.

junookami: i remember doing Scorched Earth Event, missile turrets from the sky camp who got banned keep shooting the whole place below, maybe someone or everyone get annoyed by the explosion.

orthex13: I love building and showing it off. I do hate logging into a private world and having "best builds" all over the place, and in spots I wanted to use. Best Builds needs a major revamp.

gametime2473: Exploiting glitches is what makes camp building fun. It's what separates the great builders from the average ones.

brandonfulstone7628: I don't mind floating bases as long as they're not too high up in the air

grustlytaj8708: The biggest thing is that people are pissed that best builds are taking up resource camp locations or basically any scenic overlook.

TheCheezeybacon: Didn’t they put out a post yesterday saying that no they are aloud and the guy who got banned was unbanned?

MathiasMeasinger: The only floating camps that bug me a little is placing them over event sites. Like Fasnacht the super mutant event. Other than that I think they're pretty cool and inventive.

drei416: when you go to a best build camp for the daily, it's easy to accidentally click report if your screen is shaking

Krishnath.Dragon: Personally, I have no issues with floating camps at all. But I have both the bird bones mutation (reduces fall damage, and lets you fall further) and the goat legs perk (rank 2 reduces fall damage by 90%) as a permanent part of my bloodied build. I can literally fall off the tallest buildings in the game and walk away just fine. I know I am not careful when running around so it is easier to mitigate my tendency to fall off things anyway.

As for the showcase camps, the only thing that bothers me with them is that they sometimes block my camp placement. If they had a system where they got auto removed from the server if a player logged on whose camp was located where the showcase was loaded, then my one issue with them would disappear.

Finally, in regards to trap camps. I've encountered one trap camp in my (currently) almost two and a half thousand hours in the game, and honestly, it was pretty damn funny. I hope the player who owned the camp enjoyed the three pieces of wood and two pieces of steel I dropped. Lol.

Edit: On the topic of how easy it is to report people and CAMPs. It should be easy, can't have a problem stay in the games for weeks because it is a hassle to report them. The issue is that the bans shouldn't be automatic, and that if players abuse the reporting system, they aren't punished for it. If something is reported, the reported player should be at most temporarily suspended during the investigation, and if found innocent should get compensation for the hassle. If the report turns out to be abuse of the reporting system, which is easy to see if the reporter has multiple false reports in a relatively short period, then that player should be punished for it. First by being suspended for an extended time, with the supension getting doubled for each repeated infringement. Doubling the punishment each time leads to one of two things, either the bully reforms, or they stop playing. Either way, the problem is dealt with.
