gashark6956: I ran Leeching for so long. I remember telling people I could hear Lord Warden randomly talking sometimes but it took me months to figure out that he does that if you use the unique Leeching shield from the quest reward lol
I still have it on body to use in final boss vet dragonstar because I think it actually makes big difference in there when you have like 8 flame atros stacked together.

thec4ke: I'll play devil's advocate a little. There's a lot of active defense in the logs, as you'd expect from a good player, such that Leeching is overhealing a lot as there isn't much to heal with 6m worth of shields going out, that's why there's such a huge delta between heal and overheal. A beginner/casual isn't going to be able to micromanage anywhere near that well and will probably get more passive healing from leaching than the logs imply. Also, I think the best use case for this set is people who struggle in DLC content without HM levels of damage (this is a huge percentage of the player base), as we know mitigation scales with damage, while healing does not, so relatively speaking they're getting less value from a set like brass than the might if they were tanking a vDLC HM trial.
stalciniai: You are making one very big assumption about Beginner tanks when you compare the healing you get from Leeching Plate and Resolving Vigor, and that's APM. Beginner tanks will not have anything close to even average uptime of skills. Players who are new to tanking or even just new to ESO will never reapply skills when they run out, hell they sometimes forget to refresh their taunt. Leeching plate will heal you just because you are being hit and that takes zero input from the player.
I personally remember being absolutely overwhelmed while learning to tank and forgetting to use any skills except taunt. Those are situations where leeching plate shines. And when the tank learns that all the skills, including self heals, needs to be constantly reapplied they can retire the set and upgrade to something better.
