The_Jragon: In technicality you can fight the first boss without fighting the first boss. What I mean is if you either get the dectus medallion halves or beat Makar. You can go to altus and fight the margit illusion before leyndell. Therefore fighting the first boss without fighting the first boss.

Now couple years later marget and morgot are now my favorite bosses, I've never had a trouble run with those two so now I just get summoned to help noobs and it makes my night

bonedonut: Me as a washed up dark souls player I fought margitt thinking "oh I could just probably block and I'll be alright" to then realize he did holy damage and blocking was not a safe option, it DESTROYED me for almost 4 hours until I finally clicked again with my souls mentality. After that only malenia and the consort took me more than 2 hours to beat. If you're new I don't recommend you skipping him, he's the easiest of the hardest bosses and will teach you a lot of what you need to beat the game

T_h_eMan: The problem with this, is that you also skip Godrick. and if you skip him, you have to kill another boss that drops a Great Rune. (Eg: Rykard or Radahn). This is because there is no way back into Godrick's Arena from there, this isn't too hard for me because i kill (Godrick, Radahn and Rennala) any way. But for beginners that want to skip Margit because of there skill level, they DEFINITELY would NOT be able to kill either one of those Bosses.
