The Strength Vs Dex Debate Elden Ring

TheDoomsdayzoner: There is a debate?

Come on, we all know that VIGOUR IS SUPERIOR!

Epsonea_482: From the Screen

To the Elden Ring

To the Glintstone

To the Elden Lord

Where’s my Soreseal that’s my bling

Always Shattering when I reign

brentbentKRFP: Clueless mortals, it's Int all the way!

someguywithoutamustachestw4406: Me who likes both equally:

featurelength5086: I prefer dex weapons not because I'm a filthy weeaboo or filthy bleed user, but because I'm a filthy medieval arms nerd and dex swords and the cross-naginata movesets are much more accurate to real life manuals of arms.

shifungistark1041: quality

EdwardJamesSuico: Props to the artist, really like the new expressions and the Gym/Punk Ranni fit.

Alpha_Gunslinger: Even in the original Giantdad video OnlyAfro calls dexterity users the f word. The golden tracer was also considered somewhat of a "cheese" for bad players.

krakkenzomboid6341: Big stick, hit good. Little stick, hit bad. Me bonk with big stick enemy go long sleep sleep. This good.

TheRealSinful: strength good, but you need 11 dex to wield the zwei

sawborg7883: Invalid. Faith users are superior.

Alpha_Gunslinger: Will Michael Zaki call us "Sigma" if we guess the mystery thingy correct?

joels5150: My favorite was the clip where STR vs Dex builds face off in PVP arena, and immediately simultaneously one-shot each other. Top comment was: Each of them thinking to themself, “Worth it.”

man_ham_aslume484: it's all about what you like, i'm a bloodborne addict and love fast-paced gameplay so i love dex builds, but i also enjoy some bonk here and there, it's kind of ridiculous there are grown men around telling how you should play your pve, as much as i may despise magic (ds1 dark bead left a scar on my soul) and banter with a friend who uses them, it's still friendly banter, insulting someone for the build they use is just dumb, hope all the strength and dex enjoyers here have a nice days

CallumCooke01: Loving the new Ranni design.

edwarddavis7858: It's funny that two handed gives you effective strength but not dex, because in actual sword fighting, using a weapon two handed offers you WAY more speed and dexterity than if you one hand that weapon. Like It's like they wanted to be more realistic, but only went halfway, honestly.

lharsay: The funniest part about the str/dex debate in Elden Ring is that it's the most meaningless it has ever been in any Souls game. You can infuse any normal upgrade weapon with either keen or heavy and they will perform near identically on both. Dark Souls 1-2 didn't even have physical infusions, strength actually meant using bonk weapons and dex meant katanas.

qt_Tm: Dex and Str are like Blue and Red they are both perfect, and whichever one you choose is purely up to you

radagussy: Something I’m surprised you didn’t cover about dexterity is how (at least to me because of how bloated of a stat it is) is how dex feels almost like it has no apparent identity. For example a lot of the time if someone wants to make a “bleed” build they need to first decide on if they’re using a weapon with arcane scaling, or one of the plethora of dex scaling weapons that have passive bleed.

It’s so weird because it seems like every other stat has somewhat of an identity but dex is just all over the place with it being tied to lightning scaling, cast speed, how easily we control torrent, and the fact the majority of bleed weapons are dex weapons.

You can’t even say dex weapons are usually faster/smaller since there’s a good chunk of big bonk weapons that you’d think would be str weapons but for whatever reason have better dex scaling (think of stuff like godslayer greatsword, zwiehander, some great spears etc ) I hope that if the next game is an RPG with stats like this that they manage to flesh out stronger identities for each stat (I know weird thing to ask for regarding stats)
