It can go from a 1v5 to a 3v2 dending in how you do the different Questlines througout the DLC.

Well technically its always atleast a 2v5 since you get a random Blood Noble as replacement for Ansbach.

Sanguine Noble Nataan is the failsafe so you don't get punished TOO hard for simping. Miyazaki decided that missing Ansbach's "I am Ansbach of the Pureblood Knights. I stand with blade aloft, blood afire. For the dignity of my lord and master, Mohg." entry was punishment enough.
