skelettman: The reason the fire knight greatsword has that in the item description is because it's one of the very few weapons that have elemental damage while still being buffable or infusable.

"Blessed with a flame incantation." Reffering to the fire damage it deals naturally.

"Futher flame imbuement will amplify the effect and greatly increase the armament's power." This line can be slightly misleading but it's trying to say that it works better with the fire and flame affinities in comparison to other weapons.

When a normal colossal sword has the fire affinity, it lowers the base physical damage by about 33% and then gives it the same amount of fire damage. The Fire Knight's Greatsword is lowered by 40% and then gives ~1.25 times that to the base fire damage. This means:

Fire damage on a Fire Zweihander = 0.66 * it's physcial damage with normal affinity.

Fire damage on a Fire FKGS = 0.75 * it's physcial damage with normal affinity.

When a normal weapon has the flame art affinity, it lowers the base physical damage by about 20% and then gives that same amount of base fire damage. The Fire Knight's Greatsword is lowered by 30% and then again gives ~1.25 times that to the base fire damage. This means:

Fire damage on a Flame Art Zweihander = 0.8 * it's physcial damage with normal affinity.

Fire damage on a Flame Art FKGS = 0.875 * it's physcial damage with normal affinity.

(I'm ignoring decimals so if you do the math it's gonna be slightly off, the real calculations could also be more complicated but this is what I noticed from playing around in the Build Calculator)

It ends up with a higher base fire damage than other colossal swords and that combined with a much better faith scaling is probably why they included that in the item description.

markwazny6361: For bloodflame blade, I did a run where I tossed that on a Banished Knight’s Greatsword with wild strikes and the resulting meat grinder carried me through most of the game. The hard hits, going just fast enough that a lot of things can’t recover absolutely destroys a lot of enemies. Walk up to an enemy that either staggers or doesn’t move around tooo much, hold down L2 for a few seconds and it’s dead. Even mulched the Godskin Duo stupid fast with it.
