Because the question posed to you, the player, when making a build, isn't "which one does better damage " it's "what do I prefer more, better damage or the convenience of having one catalyst " because you will get more damage out of the prince of death staff and the golden order seal, but does that matter when you have the freedom of both in one.

And no, I am not going to not be pissed that we got two more Colossal Swords from Radahn when the Curved Greatsword category is hurting for weapons and the weapons are literally called "Radahn's Greatsword". Making two more and making them Colossal Swords is just insult to injury.
valonyaver600: Was this made before the update that buffed the butterflies? There is no way it's worse than the other rememberance incantation simply because of how good rot is. Sure the animation takes a while and you're probably getting hit during it, but the animation doesnt need to finish for the butterflies to explode and any decently sized enemy is getting rotted immediately. You can say it's arguably worse than the other rot incants but compared with the 4th best holy damage spell that does holy damage and nothing else, i think this one is actually good.
PudgeDredd: Rellana's Twin Blades is my favorite DLC weapon despite it's flaws. Great Milady move-set, an ash similar Night and Flame and it looks cool. A fun weapon with great potential and I'm surprised they haven't buffed it. Speaking of Rellana, instead of the two moons I wish the game gave us a faster smaller moon projectile similar to Glintstone Comet.
knightgabriel1311: Rotten Butterflies after the buff is at least a solid alternative to scarlet aeonia that only takes 1 slot but inflicts the same variation of scarlet rot, and even if you get knocked out of the animation as long as the butterflies appear they still explode.


Granted, all of this is moot when the mere existence of rotten breath makes both spells completely obsolete anyways
dukesilver1189: Rotten Butterflies is actually really good post patch. Considering it can proc the same 30% version of rot as Scarlet Aeonia for 1/3 the memory slots, it’s really good if you need space for other incants and works like a charm on big bosses

blizzardgaming7070: Man do a lot of these spells need hyperarmour, Messmer's orb could use it but is good enough on it's own. Getting slapped out of a fully charged fireball the second before it gets off is frustrating though.
And Land of Shadow is just Golden Land but without the hyperarmour.
