What it means is that, using gaius as an example, if you die and re-enter the arena he will now spawn further back like when you initially entered the arena.
This should help prevent getting bull-rushed the second you cross the fog wall in his fight.

bruhvenant: Seems like this is a quick update just to address the most ridiculously broken stuff, the vast majority of this patch is classified as "bug fixes" so it wasn't really intended to be a major balance shake-up and the nerfs are simply because those things were benefitting from bugs. I imagine they have 1.13 in the works as a large balance focused patch, especially considering how much balance has been the hot topic for people to complain about.

benjaminweeks8619: Rolling Sparks was guaranteed to be nerfed along with Split Slash. You could kill the final boss with less than 10 L2s with Sparks. This is typical for From. Also Rolling Sparks was legit broken. The hitboxes from it would stack on top of each other.
But hey at least we still have the Thorn spell
DasTarnschnitzel: For rolling sparks: you can still throw them through bosses with large hitboxes and do great damage. It was never intended to be thrown at the ground at point blank.
YangBalanceYin: Decent direction, but a lot of incantations and sorceries feel like they are literally not scaling with anything, take forever to cast, and have zero hyper armour. Gold arcs or fire rain do like 100 damage... I hope they approach them next, though the perfume bottles were literally only good because of a bug... which says everything.
user-zp8kj2cl9g: The bosses placement means that they will no longer charge directly at you in a straight line the moment you cross the fog gate. They will be repositioned to the spot where they do their "introduction" the first time you fight them. Meaning, they are a lot more far away and give you more time to summon.
couran: I think it makes sense that they've focused on things that were obviously wrong or broken first. It's only been two weeks, since release, not a surprise that there's no real buffs yet because presumably they want to wait until they've seen how all the combos and options truly play out before issuing buffs.

Freelancer.Warzone: I think one change would benefit everyone massively: if you gather the maximum amount of any consumables, you should be able to exchange them for a resusable item.
You do one massive farming session to get what you want, and you are rewarded with the result of not having to go through that ever again, that could promote both using more consumables and the hoarding playstyle (of "im saving this for later, who knows when i will be needing it- aaand the game is over")
People who earn their consumables honestly are always in the "oh no i might run out of this so better save it for later" trap, while people who use CE to grant themselves these items wouldnt be at a massive advantage. I know they changed consumables for colosseum, but the entire crafting side of the game is seriously underdeveloped and underappreciated, and will stay that way even after 2 years if they dont introduce something like this

ashscar8878: I believe the part about the placement of the Golden Hippo and Gaius is about how their starting positions are different on subsequent attempts compared to the first. This will be especially notable for Gaius who originally comes running in from the entrance to the next area at first and starting much closer to the boss fog on subsequent attempts where he is free to charge at you right off the bat.

I genuinely think you should be given a choice to trade your weapon and receive your smithing stones back every time a weapon you already maxed out gets nerfed significantly.

BzCoffin1663: As a tiche user I can confirm that sometimes when she does the destined death and later when the grey area wears off the bosses health definitely looks like it bounces back more than the damage the attack did effectively healing the boss, glad they fixed that I though I was going crazy
ViperXtreme: maybe the summoned bug is the one near fort of reprimand, where a ghostflame dragon is fighting mesmer's army with black knights. Any summoned npc there just stands and doesn't react, they only react when attacked then de aggros again and becomes idle
