MyGuidingMoonlight55: I’m one of the few that actually loved the final boss of the dlc but I have to admit that the ending of the dlc is extremely underwhelming
user-bf5ps3yw8o: I am Gurranq version of the fan: Miyazaki bring more games I'm not sated ,feed me more, I will grant money and rage.
DRENIC10: I need a patch that makes the Great Kenneth Heith renown me as a Knight
Ryanjelly22: That final cut scene was so dissatisfying for me. After that big boss fight and finally reaching the crucible, I was so excited to see what would happen and explore the crucible gate, but then we literally just got a shot of Miquella talking, and you couldn't even jump up to touch the divine gate. I was really like, is this it?
spaceman_256: Armored core 6 came out ten years after the previous armored core game. Proof that From’s “never say never” mentality can pay dividends.
k9ine999: I've spent years with Elden Ring, Im definitely ready to move on. I think From is smart to move onto something fresh before things go stale.
Mia__Single__again704: That spear impaling Marika is definitely from the Elden Beast. If you watch the Elden Beast's grab attack, the very first spear that comes down to strike is the largest followed by several smaller ones. I the large spear is the same one that is impaling Marika, just lost of its pure gold glow from how long it is probably there
malikhittam1440: FROMSOFTWARE!! GIVE ME ANOTHER ELDEN RING DLC, AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!!!
stakesishigh516: I fully agree with this. I’m definitely far from ready to leave the Lands Between. I thought the DLC was absolutely incredible. I loved that the Land of Shadow was technically “disconnected” from the Lands Between. They absolutely killed it with a DLC of an open world game.
josuerosasdiaz1450: Gg boys... Back to the abyss we go
cyber5345: i remember the initial leaks talking about how great rune game would be a trilogy. could you imagine?
ShadowAnimeInk: Elden Ring 2: Even Older Ring
DerdyDubs: Ending ER with consort Radahn is the equivalent to a wet-fart
dg3734: I think Godwyn was chosen because he was Maikas only perfect child. Morgott, mohg, Miquella, Malenia, (Melina?), are all cursed in some way shape or form. (Bodyless? Melina is a mystery)
miguelvizuetecano6449: I totally agree: dark souls 3 dlc's ending gave me closure, but, this didn't. I wish they had given us a new ending with miquella, and I wish they didn't made the dlc so disconnected
cillian6460: I NEED MORE ELDEN RING!!! I legit felt like a crackhead after finishing the base game and also shadow of the erdtree because I was so desperate for more… and like you say there’s so much more to be addressed with the lore/story
JeffMonsoon: I’ve spent so much time digging into the lore of Elden Ring that I feel like ending on SOTE leaves so many things unanswered. I know that’s been From’s modus operandi, but this is such a great opportunity to explore more about Melina, the Gloam-Eyed Queen and Godwyn. I was hoping the last DLC would focus on themes of finality and death — both as a concept and as a source of power. Still, I’m just happy they released something as amazing as SOTE
bannedguysomebannedguy8309: Sometimes letting something have its moment in the sun and then remembering fondly is the best way to go.
Featsofgrace: I think Miyazaki left us a hint with the tiny tree in the dlc.
zephyrabysstrinity: To me the divine gate is a enigmatic unexplored concept. If they ever make another dlc for elden ring where you go beyond the divine gate and uncover its secrets. Like imagine in order to explore that region you had to defeat both radahn and mohg and then travel to shadow realm and defeat messmer, romina and radahn in order to access the divine gate, that would be so great.
Dioptase26: I think the biggest lore point is why Godefroy what was that point of that.
AccursedHawk: Hopefully so. As much as I love Elden Ring I am ready to move onto whatever From does next tbh
gematria696: From Software ruined my gaming experiences.
I just can't play other games and not be thinking "damn this is not a From Software game, this is not even close to a From Software game"
It's just depressing. No other game fills my soul like Elden Ring has :(
QuantumTelephone: When a company is SO good at making games that every single flaw is put under a microscope. I hope to see a sequel, but FS is fantastic at making new IPs
cheeks_of_the_boreal_valley: Please no elden ring 2. I just want another game. If the developers don't have good ideas for a sequel, don't force their hand. Milking a franchise is a sign of lack of artistic integrity, and it's the best way to kill any good impressions you have of the previous game. This is how you get assassin's creed shadows and whatever the fuck the latest wow expansions are
___.51: The DLC answered questions that didn’t need answers, like the origin of scarlet rot, the exact origin of the two fingers, and the apparently long history surrounding the flame of frenzy. The DLC did not answer questions that badly needed answers, like some of the things you brought up around the 5 minute mark.
Nova-Franconia: It’s really just the same debate everybody had during the end of DS3, that we’re having now. The amount of people dissatisfied about the fact, that the final boss of the DS trilogy was only introduced one DLC prior, and coming seemingly out of nowhere for people that didn’t pay attention to the story (Gael leaves tons of messages in the Ringed City, and the Painting Girl has dialogue about Gael seeking the Dark Soul), is basically 1 to 1 what the buildup to Radahn was in this DLC, just with Freya and Ansbach.
Guess what also happened once you beat Gael… pretty much nothing. You got an item you could trade in for like 4-5 lines of extra dialogue from an NPC, a ton of people were mad we didn’t even get a cutscene or anything. This DLC basically traded that dialogue for a cutscene, and people still complained.
The whole “It should’ve been Godwyn, it should’ve been this person or thaf one…” is also just a rerun of what has already happened before. Back in the day, it just took the form of: “Where’s Velka!? What about Allfather Lloyd!? So Gwynevere marries Flame God Flann, and we don’t get anything about any of them? Gertrude gets one incantation and we just never hear about her again? Gwyn doesn’t make a return!? etc…” and many many more.
At this point, I’m pretty much convinced we live in a simulation, where the same things are just bound to happen over and over again. The DLC will be beloved in 2 years, and at some point, when we’re waiting for the next FromSoftware title’s DLC, the Fanbase will just do a 180 again… I can already see it now: “Hold on, so mother of Damnation was referenced all over the base game but then doesn’t make an appearance in the DLC!?!?”
TotoIsWriting: Dark Souls ending felt great because there wasn't more to understand, we got the story we were meant to get. But Elden Ring clearly has a much grander narrative that we've no glimpse of and I want more lol
EDIT: Don't get me wrong I've never had more fun theorizing over a game, it just kills me to know there's a 1000-page long manuscript written by GRRM in Miyazaki's safe somewhere and I WANT IT
Robahomusic: God, that short Sekiro clip made me remember how focking good it was.
L33Dz: I am not annoyed that Radahn is in the dlc I’m just annoyed that his relationship with Miquella takes such a big part of the dlc’s story when they could’ve focused on much more interesting things which we have been speculating for years.
Psilo-gn1sx: For what it's worth, I think "parallels between Miquella and Ranni" and "truth about the Night of Black Knives" have the same answer.
Ranni and Miquella are the only real contenders for empyrean godhood, and if we assume Godwyn was Miquella's first choice in Consort, it makes sense why Ranni would target him. She also used the act to divest her own flesh, which seems to be an important part of the process.
There are Black Knives guarding the Liturgical Town, and surrounding Iji and Blaidd. It's possible Ranni betrayed her companions, but that never really sat right with me. I think these Knives are compelled by Miquella.
MattBrain9336: Miyazaki did say in an interview something along the lines of
"Elden Ring is still NOT the perfect game I want to create, but I am getting there"
Which leads me to believe there is something fundamentally "not perfect" in Elden Ring
So he'll probably build a completely new game from the ground up (Sekiro 2? Elden Ring 2? A completely new IP?)
Julez60: I just want more Armored Core
bachl1: I wont preorder a fromsoftgame anymore after elden ring and the dlc, Overall just disapointing
LycanKnight124: I kinda wish they had restored the cut dialogue for Miquella, where he talks about his age and everything, instead of simping for radahn
