Talismans, summons, ashes, blocking, weapons, attacking, leveling, armor, face buttons, shoulder triggers, and the directional sticks are all noob traps for cheaters. True pros face tank at 10 vigor until the boss feels bad about hitting you. 2 years in, I've almost beaten Soldier of Godrick.

mattkeflowers: I think Noah Caldwell-Gervais has written some 12 hours on fromsoft games, and a great deal of it is about the topic of how FromSoft has created a wide variety of tools to help modify the friction level to what you need. There's no difficulty selection menu, but there's magic, summons, shields, resist items, a whole world of tools all there to benefit the player.

I'm planning on playing these games now, because so many folks (like y'all) help dispel that get good energy

basic_chain: Simone, for the fire giant the trick is to use frost or bleed in order to take big chunks of health off. If you're using the blasphemous blade, you're doing hardly any damage as he's resistant to fire (being the fire giant, ofc). Also, consider using the turtle talisman and farming turtle necks to make pickled turtle necks, as you'll need every ounce of stamina to chase him down and whack his feet or hands. Also, if you continue Alexander's questline, he can help and he does CRAZY poise damage to him.

drunkenclam91: I played through over half of hollow knight before I realized I had never found the screen with the guy who upgrades your nail.
For those who don't know- The nail is your sword and each of the 5 upgrades nearly doubles its damage. I played much of a game known for being quite difficult with the starting sword, essentially. Would do it again for a challenge run, but for my first run I was very confused why the fights took so long.

thespouterinn: I came back to the game after two years, and looked up how to get to the bird that makes rune farming much easier, and now I’m massively “overlevel” — but I finally beat the game and am having a lovely time wandering through the DLC. I’m having even more fun now that I’ve used the tools the game gave me to make the game fit my playstyle. Other people can have whatever kind of fun they want with Elden Ring, but they need to stop pretending like ignoring most of the game’s systems is the intended way to play.

(And I also got through most of the game with the winged scythe and the blasphemous blade!)

Nanoqtran: Coming to the conclusion that you don't need to pump vigor is easy to understand. "They are just gonna one shot me anyway" easily leads you to think that Big heath bar wont do much in the long run. Little do people realize how much tanking just 1 extra hit completely changes things.
